Why do elderly culture stare at babies so much more than the rest of the population?
I can't get through any sort of a shopping trip without an elderly person stopping me to agree to me about my baby, even if she's asleep or if I'm obviously surrounded by a rush. I'm just curious as to why elderly people are so much more interested in babies than anyone else seem to be?
Probably b/c they are remembering when their babies were babies...and realize how long ago it was. I think it is sweet when the little old ladies amble over to see the baby!
Haha, cause they are adorable. It is probably such a marvel to an elderly person because they see what different spectrums of life span each of them are at. Elderly people have lived their duration and it is winding down but a baby is just foundation the journey.
I spend a lot of time with my Grandma who is at a Geriatric Memory Care Center and I other love seeing the joy my daughter brings the residents.
Answers: its usually because elderly have been around babies a lot more that everyone else due to their age and it take them back to when their children where babies. though i does get annoying when you are trying to bring things done and they stop you .

I believe they do that because it reminds them of NEW natural life. I mean they really don't have much longer to be with their loved ones and seeing a kid probably reminds them of when they had a better and brighter life. Unfortunately a lot of society are rude and impatient with the elderly. Seeing a baby just reminds them of the innocence.

They have more time because they are not rushing around like everyone else. They appreciate life more. They are on one wrap up of the life cycle and babies are on the other. Birth is a new beginning, and so is going to glory which they will one day in the near adjectives. They respect life more than younger people. There could be a variety of reason. but they don't do it to be mean.
With my son we cant dance anywhere with out any adult stopping us to see our boy, He has almost 6 inches of mane at 7 months with 2 hair cuts LOL. I think elder people are more to look and talk cause they miss that bygone of their life. They children are grown up and seeing children bring back thejoy they once had.
My favorite is the looks I win from people cause I have lot of tats and i bring back asked if I am babysitting, DUDE ITS MY KID!
Because they miss having that, possibly they miss their kids being little or were never able to enjoy kids. What does it matter? All kinds of people stop me to parley to my daughter, i like it. At least people want to see your toddler, look at the good instead of the bad.
We think that they are great... We have be there and know what a blessing a child is. I work in the public and see them often and suggest they are adorable. We are just delighted for you and your family. I suppose that within a nut shell we know the joy and heartache you will experience with your new treasure. They rob you to another level of love. Honestly, did you ever dream that you could love anything so much, instantly? We have felt it and are overjoyed for you. I recall when ours were new born and nation would stop us in the mall to look at them. I was more than smiling to take the time to show them off. They are 23 and 24 now and I would love to do it adjectives over again. Enjoy every second of the time you have now, it goes so hurriedly. You look up one day and they are off to college and you wonder how it could have happen so fast. And it's not too much for us to ask to get a look at a new treasure.. BTW you will do alike thing some day.. I hope this helps you to infer old people better.. God bless you and yours...
looking back on their younger days I would think.
For many it brings back abundantly of memories with children and grandchildren. Think about it, they've been through greatly more 'stuff' than we have concerning babies. Even if I'm in a hurry or not in a principally good mood that day I will stop if an elderly person desires to talk to Noah. I think it's very sweet and I love seeing their face light up when they start talking about babies.
