11 lb toddler.how plentiful ounces of formula per feed?
I have a 3 week old baby, he weigh 10.5 at birth, and has gained a few ounces since..i was breast feed but he never seemed satisfied, so I am now switching to formula, how abundant ouces should he get at each feeding..he eat about every 2-3 hours and i have been giving 3 ounces, but sometimes he still seem hungry..HELP!!
I don't think there is a recommendation on how much to tender at each feeding or how often, but he should hve 2.5 oz per every pound he weigh each day. But if he still seems hungry, try accumulation an extra ounce to each bottle and see if he takes it.
I understand your dilema. My son wasn't gaining the way he should by BF alone so I hold been doing both (which I encourage you to do for as long as you can) As for how much formula per feeding. It's different every time for my little one.
Sorry I can't be more give support to. Good Luck
When my baby be 11 pounds I was giving him 5 ounces every 4 hours or so. But you really should ask your doctor about this since he is so young.
What makes you ponder that he was never satisified. There are only a very fundamentally very small amount of women who actually don't make plenty breastmilk. It is normal for breastfeed babies to eat every 1-3 hours.
Answers: You're switching to formula even though your baby was gaining consignment? Wow. Way to go.
But to answer your question, if he's still hungry, give him more. Babies don't overeat unless you instil them to.
As much as he wishes! If he's still hungry after the three ounces, give him more!
