Mixing rice cereal beside newborn food?
I always mixed the cereal with the formula and then added possibly a bit of bananas to it...my kids loved it as babies.
It can be done both ways. I think it would depend on which food you are totalling it too also. Peaches are thinner and could use more rice by itself, while some of the other foods are already thick and you may need to mix the cereal with rather water, juice or formula before mixing it next to the food. Just play around with the thickness of the foods to find what your child likes best.
just mix the rice n near the formula then add some baby food or of late mix a little
rice n milk 2 make it thicker 2 fill little one up a feed the baby the baby food
I don't construe it makes any difference.
Anyway this website has recipes next to rice cereal / formula mixed with baby food:

I just add the rice cereal straight into the baby food as it make a more filling, and thicker meal. I did this only when my son be younger, at about 6 months though.
He is now 9 months and can eat finger food, and table food, so it is much easier very soon that he can have these, instead of having to worry if the food is too tacky.. Now it is a worry of if its too hot or not.

in recent times mix with food it makes it thick and graceful to eat, if it gets to thick, later you can milk.
I've done it both ways. When your toddler is just starting solids, mix the cereal as usual and add the fruit/vegetable you desire. As they get a bit elder you can add cereal directly to the food to make it thicker. Source(s): Mommy to 10 month old
