How do you clear the transition to sippy cup easier on a 10 month matured?
My daughter for the past couple of months would take a few sips out of her sippy if I held it up for her. Now anytime I get out a sippy she cries. I own the Playtex First Sipsters with the handles, the Nuby's with the soft spouts and handle, the Avents with the handles, the Playtex Original Sipsters and an off brand liberal without handles. I've even tried sucking out of them and find most of them pretty hard to suck out of. What would you suggest?
Answers: My daughter is a sippy cup snob. lol. She's a year frail and since the day I started feeding her solids @ 4.5months I have other sat a sippy cup on the highchair tray. She didn't want anything to do with it until she was roughly 7 or 8 months old. Even then I had to hold it for her. She started drinking from it on her own at more or less 9 or 10 months and even still to this day I occasionally hold it for her while she takes a drink. Anyway. Try the gerber sippy cups with handle and SOFT SPOUTS! These made a huge difference for my daughter for some reason. These are the only ones that she will drink out of. Or if that doesn't work. try one with a straw. Don't make a contribution up whatever you do. Just keep sitting it on her tray and even holding it for her if you have to. She'll seize use to it eventually, it's just going to take some time.
Also when we went to break my daughter from the bottle we treated the sippy cup mode of like a bottle in the since that we would sit her in our knees and hold it for her while she drank her milk. She hasn't had a bottle since June 22nd and has never cried for one. We only sit her on our lap for the first week. By then she was over it and walking around and individual a "big girl". it took my breastfed son a few months to get used to a sippy
i introduced it at 6 months and he would only chew on it
i use the nubby ones because they have a soft nipple
for roughly speaking 2 months he would only chew and suck a little.
when he chewed on it he was still getting some liquid
but now that hes 10 months and eating more solids he needs more fluids so hes drinking out of it fine in a minute
i would stick with a soft nipple and just let her play and chew on it to gain used to it
try giving it to her a few times a day
she'll get used to it
