1 cm dilated and 50% efface?
Being 1cm and 50% effaced means nothing. Well it does niggardly that your body is preparing and progressing like it should at this point, but in the end it is no indication of labor beng essential. Some women sit at 3cm 100% effaced and end up being overdue and induced. Some women are dilated 1/2 cm at their 40 weeks appointment and run out up going into labor right on time. I wouldn't exactly take it as a sign that labor is near, but it doesnt hurt to be primed. With my first I sat at 3cm 60% effaced for two weeks. With my second I was 4cm 80% efface and went into labor the next day. SO start walking. Thats how I go into labor with my second. I walked for an hour, took a 15 minute break, walked again, took another break, and after I walk teh third time I was headed to the hospital
