Would you consider a "damp nurse" for your babe-in-arms if you are inept or a moment ago don't surface comfortable breastfeeding?
No... I don't even think I would do donated breastmilk because of the cost.. yeah breastmilk is the best but formula comes in a outstandingly close 2nd and to me the benefits dont outweigh the "risks"
I am still BF'ing my 13 months old, so at this point, wouldn't consider it since I would be ok if he needed to wean off if I had to be separated from him for a few days.
Now, past a year, yes I would consider a "wet nurse" or donated milk. To me, it's soooo much better than commercially prepared formula.
I never thought I would, but yes, I would.
No, I wouldn't unless my baby was going to starve. No one else gets to nurse my babe-in-arms! :)
I would however, look into getting donated breast milk.
I would if I was unable to breastfeed, but I'd prefer it from a milk bank so I could still be the one feed the baby. But breastmilk from another mom is still way better than any formula out there.
But I wouldn't use a raining nurse if I just didn't feel comfortable breastfeeding. If I didn't feel comfortable, I'd a short time ago force myself to get over it for the sake of my child's health.
By the way, to the being who said formula is a close second.UH NO. First of all, formula isn't second. The best way to feed a infant goes like this:
1. Breastmilk straight from the mom's breasts
2. Breastmilk from the mom, but in a bottle
3. Breastmilk from another woman
4. Formula
So no, formula isn't a close second...it's FOURTH. And it's not even close to breastmilk. Formula companies want you to have a sneaking suspicion that so, but it's not even remotely close.
I would if it was common practice and they were tested for spot on illness.
If I needed to, yes. I'd prefer to have someone I trust pump their milk instead, so I could hold my child for feedings. Missing all that time would make me SO depressed.
No I would not.
