Home decorate put somebody through the mill, Moms...?

I'm asking here because I know you people.
Plus, every time I ask a question in Home Decor or doesn`t matter what I get like 2 answers...

Okay, so I was going through some of my stuff at my mom's. I found a drawing that they had brought back for me from Hawaii when I was similar to 8.

But it says my name.
Would it be abnormal to put it up in my house? I figured I would put it in my kitchen-I thought the colors would jump well with my Fiesta Ware. My mom told me it was unexpected because it's just MY name, but that would mean I wouldn't ever know how to put it up! It's so pretty and means so much to me...:(
What do you think? Would it be odd?
My husband say he wouldn't mind because the kitchen is mostly "my turf anyway". Heh.
