Carseat covers are a must have near a baby! They are awesome!
I also love having one of those fleece tie blankets you can drape over top of the carseat handle and cover the hole when outside so snow can't blow contained by. They are also great for just general warmth. We hold 6 in our home.
I'm not sure if it's indistinguishable thing as a bundle me but I had this thing you put contained by your carseat that was really padded and warm so that I didn't other have to put a snow suit on my daughter during the winter months.
Another thing I got great use out of be a space heater because I wanted to keep her room thaw out enough for her but didn't need the rest of the house that warm.
EDIT: Yes, the bundle me is like peas in a pod thing - I just googled it. I got mine at Wal-Mart and it's made out of that softee yard goods which is incredibly soft. It's a shame they aren't made for bigger car seats.
We live contained by VA, and it doesn't usually get bitterly cold here...but one thing I loved using were fleece sleepers for both of my babies. They stay nice and heat when it's chilly at night.
I loved my little car seat blanket point also. I called it his hot pocket. However you have to be really careful, apparently it's considered modifying the coup¨¦ seat and heaven forbid you were surrounded by a car crash the car seat company is free from any liability because you "modified" it.
Answers: I agree with Luv, the car seat entry is awesome. They can be kinda expensive though, so definitely register for it at your baby shower. My friend lent me hers, because she couldn't believe I didn't have one. It come in very very handy.
