How do you use a nipple shield correctly?

I bought a comfort one from medela. when you insert the nipple, should there be extra room at the tip or should the nipple fill it? i think mine might be too big, but its the single size they had. its a 24mm, and i am a 36 C chest with average sized nipples. when i use it there is space disappeared on the tip, and my baby seems like its too big for his mouth!!
Answers:    Yeah within will be room at the end, but your baby should kinda like suck your nipple up to the wrapping up. If you see milk in it you are doing it right.
