13 month ripened not wanting to get through...he usually LOVES to munch through...?

he's 13 months old and teething (we figure with how he's acting he's working on some molars now). He usually LOVES to chomp through but took a few bites of food for breakfast then refused to eat anything else...a short time ago now I tried to give him lunch and again, he took a few bites of food and then refuse to eat the rest. He just wanted his cup of milk be all...

I'm guessing it has something to do with him teething but not for lasting...if it b/c of teething, how long will this probably last before he gets his appetite rear legs??
either he's really smart and saw on tv that its not cool to eat(like a fat commercial) or he approaching you said is teething just give it some time
I would think that it s probably because of teething also, when son was teething he refused to munch through but he liked to drink milk so I made sure he had enough of that so newly give him whatever he likes best, and use teething gel..Make sure he have lots to drink so that he doesn't dehydrate, he'll be back to normal in a hours of daylight or 2
It's due to the teething. It hurts his gums to eat and have the food push against the sore gums. Give him things that are soft and mushy. It will assistance him eat but not hurt like harder food can. Try bananas and applesauce and things like this. Pasta is perfect to because it's soft. I'd stay away from meat for a few days because it can be hard to chew anyway. Make sure you put topical gel on his gums to help with the aching... orajel is great. Keep an eye on how he's sleeping. It could be keeping him up at night and cause him to run a slight fever. Baby motrin will work capably at naptime and bedtime for this. As soon as the teeth get through the bone, he'll be on the mend. Good luck!
His gums are sore so it hurts to eat. Have him eat softer foods and give him rime pops and cold drinks to take the swelling down.

Good luck.
he is fat and thats y he wont eat. ur mean bye

my mom luvs u
Most likely teething it can second anywhere from 1-4 days around there. He will eat when he feels approaching it, he will not let him self starve.
Answers:    Yeah, I'm guessing its because he is teething. Especially getting molars in, he's probably in a lot of torment. His lack of appetite shouldn't last more than a day. If it does, you may want to check next to the doctor to see if its okay to give him some tylenol or something to ease the pain so he can put away.
well im not no parent but my brothers babys use to do that, they use to love to eat and some times in that not interested it couldbe from teething but im not that great of help lol
As long as he's taking a few bites, he should be fine.. Make sure he gets lots of fluids though.. I would say if it keep going for more than a few days, call the doctor.
You're probably right; It's probably teething. it could also be that he's learning to be more independent about what he eat and it could also be that he just doesn't need the same amount of calories as he did previously since growth slows down so much at one year.

In any event, don't make a big fuss of it. Offer him foods that he previously liked along with fresh foods. If he eats it, great, if not, just assume that he isn't hungry. Be sure not to procure into the habit of catering to his whims because that just makes it harder on you! The number one piece with any food issue is to never force food. Just try to stay calm and offer resourcefully balanced meals with out too much snacking and be sure he isn't drinking too much milk. Snack and milk can filch the place of meals if they get too much.

Good luck! Source(s): 7 years in a pediatric clinic, mommy to a 16 month mature
