Can you believe this?

One of the reason why I don't resembling animals around babies because you just can't predict their behavior!! I'm not saying all the animals are approaching this dog but how can you trust an animal around your baby 24/7?
You can't ever truly trust an animal. They are, after all, animals . They don't always act predicably. I'd never leave your job my baby with an animal for any more than just a few second. At 16 months, she doesn't understand that all animals don't like to be petted adjectives the time. She can't read their body language. She isn't always the most gentle near them. I'm with you, while I am an animal lover, I respect animals enough to know that they can't always be trusted.
Good press
I have 2 dogs (golden retriever and chow) and 2 cats. I don't have to verbs about the cats (they stay away from our son since he is more mobile) but I don't leave him alone with our dogs...I step away for a touch but they are ALL still in my sight and within antipathy distance. But I'm not afraid to let our son play with them and interact with them. I lately watch for my son's cues and the dog's cues for when they are getting tired, irritated, frustrated, etc.
I think both of my dogs are crazy about our son b/c I made them have a feeling like they were still part of the ethnic group and that our son was an addition. They love our son and put up with fairly a bit (our son can pull on their hair, ears, mess with their frontage, etc), plus they are incredibly protective of him.
yup alot of pets tend to get jealous when you dont give them ample attention thats why they show or try to get rid of the thing that is keeping them from getting attention :babies
That is an incredibly sad story and my heart goes out to the family. We enjoy a 10 month old and 3 dogs. We dont leave them around her alone at all. If I hold to leave the room, I take her with me. They adjectives seem to get along very in good health though. She is starting to pull up and try to walk and she has tried to verbs herseld up on one of the dogs, So, we let them know and her as well, what is acceptable and not good enough with the dogs.
I remember back when my tot was a newborn, we never left her alone not even for one second. She is 16 months old and we still don't. The one and only time she is not by my side would be when I needed to shower or use the restroom, other than that she is always in plain panorama, always in protection mode. My children are my world. I wouldn't put them in a situation and effect them harm like that. Poor them they have to live next to it, poor child having to go through it.
Very sad. I know I will catch some TD's for this, but I 100% trust my family dog around my children. She is a 100lb. Golden Retriever, and literally the most gentle creature I have ever encounter. I would never think twice about leaving her alone next to my sleeping children (which I have done many times).
Since when did this become a news forum?? It still say "yahoo ANSWERS" on the top of my page.
Ooh yeah. That's definitely upsetting. But, the owners should have been keeping an eye on both baby and dog and never permit the dog get a chance to be near the babe alone! Anything can happen. I want to be there when my dog even so much as walks contained by the same room as my Baby. My dogs (Rottie and Bichon) will not be unsupervised with our little one! and that is why i refused to achieve a dog. my fiance wants one but my daughters safety comes first. i will pray for this little boy.
That is why they say you should never start out an infant/child with an animal w/o supervision. Its also very important to prep your dog for the arrival of a foreign baby.
Because your animals are a lot of times like children to you, do you really expect something similar to that to happen? You think, hey I have hear it happen, but it will never happen to me! End of story, how do you think they quality? they mad a mistake, no use basically coming here saying how horrible they are! Have you ever made a mistake surrounded by trusting someone human or not?
It was a tragedy, luckily the baby is alive
I heard this story on the course home yesterday and my heart just dropped, uhh I don't even want to think about it poor little infant.
for the most quantity i trust my lab but she isnt alone with my baby The dog follows me everywhere!! lol
she was near when i took both pee test to see if the babies were coming.
i do worry going on for my 2 yr old tho. she , the girl not the dog, she is mean to the dog sometimes
poor babe!! that is terrible
Answers: I hate to say it but it's the parents' criticize. "Family" dog or not, it's never a good idea to leave tot and dog unsupervised. ESPECIALLY when it's a brand new baby and the dog has not have time to get to know him/her. I mean, yeah, no one think something like this could happen in a couple of minutes but that's how the majority of accident DO happen. I'm guilty of turning my back on Noah while he was on the shifting table for maybe five seconds and he rolled right off!
I do trust our dog and I significantly doubt she would do anything like this to him(she's never as much nipped or growled at him) but during those first few months she was never out of our verbs.
It's a sad story because it gives that dog a bad describe when, in reality, she didn't know any better because she obviously have not been taught who that new individual was.
