1 year frail skipping breakfast?

My almost 13 month old keeps skipping breakfast. He won't eat what ever I put within front of him and pushes my hand away if I try to spoon feed him.

Any ideas on how to acquire him to eat?
cheerios. Either the plain or honey flavor. I used the plain. It is great for manual dexterity the little cheerios fit just ultimate on the tips of their little fingers. At the age of 13 months they are so independent and are ready to start trying to feed themselves. It is time for lots of finger foods. Source(s): mother of 3 & grandmother of 7
Overweight children who never eat breakfast may lose body round, but normal weight children do not. Since numerous studies link skipping breakfast to poorer academic, children should be encouraged to eat breakfast.so it is important to Teaching Babies Eating Lessons to Last a Lifetime. Here are some meaningful ideas to reinforce early on:

# Don't force over-eating - Forget the starving kids within Africa, at least during mealtimes. Your kids will stop eating when they are full. If you force them to get through "everything on the plate", you're setting them up for a lifetime of eating American size portions and growing American-sized bellies. Your baby will signal that he's full by turning his head away.

# Focus on intake - stay off the phone and blackberry and keep the TV off. Your newborn and family need your attention now. Studies also show that family that watch TV during meals have a greater partiality to be over-weight. Source(s): http://www.greatdad.com/tertiary/465/261…
Answers:    Will he take a cup of milk? Try making a smoothie (yogurt, 1/3 a banana and a strawberry with some integral milk is my little guy's favorite). Some babies just aren't into breakfast. Still offer him something, and if he doesn't want it, then only be prepared for a mid morning snack. I'd atleast try to get some liquids into him in the morning, since he hasn't drank anything since the hours of darkness before.

I would think formula would be fine or any soy ingredients. Just blend everything together and let him run for it. My little guy is not that into dinner, so I give him a smoothie before bed.
Avary was like that for a while around that age too. Whenever I felt similar to she didn't get enough nutrition throughout the day I would tender her a bottle of formula at night before bed. I asked her Ped and he said it was worthy to do that. From what I understand, the most important thing is that over the course of the afternoon or week, the amount of nutrition consumed is enough. Avary's been on a feeding stirke here and here again now. Its driving me bonkers! Good luck!
Dont force him - this will just make him want to eat even smaller amount.

Babies appetites decline quite a lot after 12 months as they are growing at a much lower rate

My 2 year old is a short time ago the same - mealtimes are a real thorny struggle

The best thing is to make it fun and reward him when he does it something.
Remember one thing - your toddler is the best judge of how much food he needs , he wont starve himself so trust his body which will tell him when its time to put away
