Will a 1lb 7oz little one enjoy a hit and miss of surviving? give support to please?
my cousin gave birth at 24 weeks to twins, sadly one of them didnt make it, but the other one merely weighs 1lb 7oz. what do you reckon the chances of surviving are? please tell me the honest truth, not what i want to hear
My little bro and sister are twins, and they were born weighing between 1-2 lbs, though I am not sure how early they be.
They both survived, and are healthy, thriving 12 year olds now.
I will keep them surrounded by my thoughts and prayers! Good luck!
The odds of survival at 24 weeks are low ... but babe-in-arms may make it.
EDIT: However, Kristal's story cannot possibly be true. There are NO cases of a 22 week surviving (23 weeks is the earliest), and a 23 weeker would still be in the NICU with through health issues 3 months after being born, not a 'happy, bouncy' little one. Sounds like some information got garbled between the mother, the aunt and Kristal.
Yes, in 2007 Amillia Taylor be born. She weight ten ounces. Today she is alive and thriving.

My mother was a twin and her 2lb brother died. She weighed 1lb and she is here today very natural. Only time will tell about your cousin. Our medicine is much more advanced than from when my mother be born in the 60s, so just pray on it and be that supportive factor your cousin needs right presently.
twins have a greater chance of survival than singletons do
There is a chance of survival, although i don't know the percentage. 24 weeks is the cutoff for survival. I'll keep your cousin and baby contained by my prayers! Source(s): mom to preemie born 9 weeks early, spent 6 weeks in nicu
Answers: Well-
I hear they have had babies survive at the earliest 23 weeks. And trying to improve respectively day!
She is in my thoughts and prayers!
i have a friend that her baby be born at a lb and something and she is a healthy3 yr old. of course she can survive! Drs do the most they can!
I own a friend who had a baby at 24 weeks that was 1lb 9oz and she is a thriving 2 year dated now. I wish your cousin all the best.
i dont know the chances but my heart goes out to her.
Hun. Anything can happen. It will be terribly difficult for him to survive but its not unheard of.
I will tell you a small story. My Aunts good friend had her babe at 22 weeks. Soon after she found out the sex she went into early labor. I dont know the reasoning as to why they couldnt stop the labor but they didnt. This was almost 3 months ago. Her son, recently got out of the hospital. He was born near 1 kidney and a hole in his heart.
He is a happy bouncy little 3 month old very soon. There is ALWAYS a chance. I will keep your new cousins contained by my thoughts and prayers.
Edit: Well, it IS true. Of course, this came from my Aunt, whom I do not see often and this was her friend whom I hold never met. This is from word of mouth.
