When do i start to potty train my son?

i have little boy. He is about to be 10 months in a couple of weeks, and i only just want to have an idea of when i should start to get him geared up for potty training. he's my first child and he's already starting to walk. he is very obedient when it comes to relating him "no" or "come here". i need help please
10 months is FAR too impulsive to even be thinking about this. Being able to walk and come when you phone doesn't mean that he has the ability to control his urinary/rectal sphincters, get by his clothing, recognize the feelings of needing to pee ... and everything else that go along with it.

Most children potty train between 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 years. A few are ready around 2 years, and VERY few may be ready as impulsive as 18 months.

I'm sure you've heard that 'grandma' potty trained at a year or whatever. But that's not what we think of today as 'potty training.' It be 'mother training' -- grandma just put her baby on the potty every 30-60 minutes, and usually managed to 'catch' something. The child didn't cram to use the potty on his own.

You may have also heard that you have to start hasty because it takes many months/years to get the child trained. Not true. If you start too precipitate it WILL take months/years. If you wait until child is ready, you'll be done surrounded by a week or two.

So ... wait until he shows signs of readiness: (At least 18 months behind the times AND able to walk well and chitchat well about the potty, awareness of being wet/dirty and desire to stay dry, resources to manage his own clothing with minimal help, dexterity to stay dry for several hours at a time, and interest in big-boy underwear. At that point you can give it a try. But if he makes no progress contained by a week or so, he's probably not yet physically able, so go put a bet on to diapers and wait a little longer.)
You need to start potty training him when HE is ready, meaning he shows signs of wanting to use the potty, version the potty concept, and being able to word out that he wants to pee or poo. With boys this usually happen when they are anywhere between 2-3 years old, so you still have a looong time before that happen. Also, buy him a potty chair when he is around 18 months old, so he gets used to it, plays next to it and he is already familiarized with his chair when you start the potty training process. Most people start potty training when their children is around 2 years old. But at the same time it depends on the child. Out of adjectives the children I have seen (from relatives, friends, and even other kids at the daycares) I have be seeing that most kids these days are not potty trained until around 3 years old.
Children will usually be ready to toilet train around the 'time they start describing you they have just wee'd or pooded as that says they recognise what they own done,, also a toddler that starts asking about the toilet and wanting to watch mummy n daddy in in attendance is also another sign as they are now interested in what happens contained by there,. I worked with 2-3 year olds in daycare for 7 years and found that boys generall start for a while later but pick it up easier, also if you start changing there siesta time nappies and they are dry it is a sign that your toddler is " holding on " until they wake, at 10 months i dont think your bub is old plenty to ubderstand toilet training as it is not about listening and obeying nouns.
my son started around 2 and was potty trained before he be 2 1/2 , but everyone is different.
Boys can be closer to 3 before they are organized to train, but some are earlier. I was always told boys inevitability to learn to pee sitting down so they will learn to poop on the potty, once they have that down, they you can edify them to pee standing up!
Answers:    I myself was potty trained at a year prehistoric, but these days it seems like parents want to convey their kids to kindergarten in diapers, they wait so long. Signs that a child is ready to be potty trained:

They grunt when have a bowel movement (which shows that they recognize that they need to have one).

They stop or break play to use the bathroom. (Again, showing that they are conscious of the urge to defecate).

They can walk to the potty.

I recommend using the "Once Upon A Potty" books. They are great. You can also let your baby examine you (or dad) use the bathroom. That will help them get the idea. I would dawdle at least two more months (until a year old) so your son can really get the hang of walking. However, using cloth diapers until next might help speed along the process (with commercial diapers, your baby may not even realize that he is wet. The cloth diapers will minister to him realize). Good luck!

ETA: "Grandma" did not just hold me over the toilet and wait. I was walking, wore panties, and used my newborn potty efficiently on my own, thanks. Source(s): Potty trained early. Plan to potty train rash too.
they are ready usually around 2 years of age...you can start him a little early if you cogitate he is ready...but be patient...boys tend to take longer than girls when it comes to potty training...try the cherrios surrounded by the toilet trick for aim! :) good luck
My son is almost a year old. He is also walking and quite obedient. I am going to start soon. At least possible get a potty chair and put him on there several times a light of day so he gets the idea.

Thanks for all the thumbs down, you guys wanna come bring to the fore my kid for me if you know best?
most ppl wait until later. When he shows an interest in the potty, or is competent to tell u if he's wet or has to or wishes to go potty
