"Tummy Time" frequency?

I have an 8 week old son and he does pretty well near tummy time if hes in a good mood, if he's too tired he will fuss to be picked up.

Do you other moms do "tummy time" once daily or how normally do you make it a point to do? We do it whenever he seems like he's surrounded by a playful mood.

We have a doctor appt on Weds and the doctor said that "tummy time" and better head control is one of the milestones they look for- in your experience did the doctor "test" your little one by putting them on their tummy within the doctor office?

Just curious :)
I probably put him down on the floor for tummy time around 3 times a day.His doc never put him on his tummy at the organization, well not yet. We just go to his 4 months check up last week
We put our son down for tummy time several times a day. When he is up and in a obedient mood we have him on the floor on his tummy. We do it for about 10-15 minutes depending on him. If he is in a fruitless mood we skip tummy time and do it later. Kam has now be rolling from front to back for about a week so sometimes he doesn't stay on his belly for long.
Answers:    My son when he was younger loved tummy time. We did it a lot. Since he loved mortal on his stomach but we didn't do it for more then about 10 minutes. Yes my doctor did test him. He asks at every appointment what my son have been up to and sometimes will want to see for himself.
no, my doctor has never tested our son, I think they basically take our word for it. or maybe they see how he's acting in the doctor's department, like if he's got good commander control and is looking around they can assume I'm telling the truth, if that makes sense.

anyways, with tummy time, I a moment ago did it as much as possible. he liked being on the couch on his tummy and having me sit on the floor so I be right in his face pretty much. or if we laid tummy to tummy. I put him down whenever I could and would flip him over if he got fussy. he started rolling at around 8 weeks though, so after that I couldn't save him on his tummy. I forget when he rolled over from back to belly, but at 5 months he rolls on his belly all the time to play.
