Can I switch my newborn from formula to breastfeeding?

my baby is 2 days old, my breasts are full of breastmilk and are sore, I just get the urge to breastfeed her
yes of course you can and the sooner the better the longer you wait to set aside the breastfeed after offering bottles the harder it is to get a correct latch so work with a lactation consultant if it gets difficult and don't administer up.
Yes! you distinctly can :-)

First thing i would recommend is just try offering your breasts before you proffer the bottle.
At this young age, you should be able to just procure her to move 'back' to the boob quite easily. (especially since you have milk. it is even possible to move the kid back after the milk has dried up if the mother is prepared to put in the monster force required.)

However, i would definitely ring a lactation consultant (not a pediatrician) for advice.

You baby will win everything it needs from your milk, but a lactation consultant will help you to ensure that your baby is attaching correctly, and brand name the transition much easier for you and your baby.

Goodluck, and good on you for trying! Source(s): I'm a doula, and am studying to be a lactation consultant :-)
It might be hard. It seems babys LOVE formula. You could try it but I doubt it will work. Source(s): observation
If you can get your tot to latch on, go for it. It can be hard though because babies tend to get used to an artificial nipple enormously easily and it makes them lazy. You could also pump if it doesn't work and you can supply your baby your breast milk that way in the show time. Good luck. Breast feeding can be tough.
Sure you can, it's been done since the dawn of time.
breastmilk is ALWAYS better than formula...unless the mother is on crack lol but yes u can, breastmilk is the easiest for the baby's stomach to digest.
Answers:    Please don't ask such important questions about a newborn's fastidiousness here on a website where people don't know you or your baby.

Call the pediatrician and ask him/her, not a bunch of strangers.
YES DO IT!

She may be a litlte "what is this thing" with your nipple as apposed to a bottle nipple at first but she'll return with the hang of it.

YAY congratulations!
go for it. if you're lactating still and you want to breastfeed, you involve to start now before your milk dries up. if she won't latch on yet, pump to hang on to the milk flowing. if you like, you can use both, but sometimes mothers complain of nipple confusion, or the baby having too much of a nouns over the bottle.

just practice and you'll get it :)
yes as expected you can
Yes you can, but call her pediatritian to inform her and ask the best way to do this =)
