About have a newborn contained by America?

In the US when you give birth, does the baby stay by your bedside in it's little crib? I hold hearing women on here talk about the baby's going sour to the "nursery".is that what they do? Or does the baby stay by it's Mom? In the UK, the baby stays right by you.I would have freaked out if the nurses have taken mine to another room. How did you feel??
It's the same as UK.
The nursery is similar to the neonatal department within a UK hospital.
The baby will stay by your side unless there is a problem.
It depends on the hospital. Most US hospitals have some sort of a nursery. Most of the time, they only encourage you to use it if you are desperately surrounded by need of sleep although some use it more than others.

In the hospital where I delivered, they have a TINY nursery and encouraged the baby to stay with parents. My little one never once left my side.
LOL Yeah, you can ask to get some rest and they stir to the nursery.

We don't have the choice of not paying and we get a few thousand dollar bill for our baby. Fun!

It is to my considerate the UK has many resources for mothers and babies that the USA doesn't. We may have the nursery chance but, you have many more.

Good luck!

Add-- Yes, I do understand it is deduct from your wages. I am one of those "crazy" Americans that thinks that's a truly beautiful thing. My wages may shift to you today but, tomorrow I may get the benefit later. I think it help society as a whole anyways. :)
My son's were in my room beside me the whole time. The only time they left my side is when they needed to do subjective test (hearing tests, etc)
You have the selection of them staying in the nursery if you would like but I did not.
It probably depends on the hospital but when I had my baby he be with me at all times, he had to be taken away for his trial at the nursery several times I guess that was standard procedure but other than that he was within his little bed, even when I went for rest he either slept with me within the hospital bed or the small baby mobile bed.
you can choose :)
Answers:    My son went to the NICU after he was born, but they permit him come be with me later that afternoon. Some hospitals have nurseries for full residence infants, but mine didn't, so since they thought he needed extra monitoring because of his lip and my diabetes, he went to NICU. If I needed sleep while he was in my room, my nurse would bring care of him in there, or one of his NICU nurses would thieve his table back there and watch him.

My adjectives labor and delivery was taken care of because my husband is contained by the military. The US is funny... they already take money out of our paycheck for medical care, but only poor populace and elderly folks are entitled to it.
yes we have nurseries here in the hospital but i kept my daughter near me the whole time. i figured i carried her for nine months and i was going to be the with the sole purpose person in the hospital to take consideration of her even after having a c section. i saw how many babies are surrounded by the nursery and could not imagine my child getting enough attention with with the sole purpose two nurses in there.
EDIT: I read the other responses and i know for a fact from where on earth i am from that you can leave your child in the nursery as long as you want. my friend did so with her second child because she considered necessary to. she figured she would get a break before she go home. i don't know how she did it. i couldn't
