9.5 week ripened babe-in-arms straining and crying.?

My 9.5 week old baby daughter strains and cries but only manage to pass wind and hasn't had a bowel movement since Monday (normal, loose and runny and not tricky or firm). Previous to that she pooped again on Friday and this was because I'd been to the Drs who'd given me some lactulose syrup. Before the visit she hadn't have a bowel movement for 4 days and was in apparent discomfort, straining and crying beside the legs going..

Is this constipation or has she been misdiagnosed and has anyone here experienced this next to their baby. Because the poop she's been producing has be normal looking and not solid I don't know whether she is constipated or not.

She feeds well otherwise and is eclusively breastfed.
My baby had the same issue at 9 weeks aged. She'd been breast fed up until she was seven weeks consequently we started supplementing with formula because I had to have surgery. Anyway, when she be 9 weeks old she went four days without a BM. I call my doctor and the nurse told me its not uncommon for babies to go up to ten days without a bowel movement. However, if they're straining she recommended giving her an ounce of prune liquid for every four ounces of breast milk/formula. So I did, and it worked like a charm.

She also said to try putting my daughter in a warm hip bath and stimulating her rectum (rubbing small circles around her anus with the tip of your finger). I tried that, but it just made my daughter angry.

My daughter's first BM after four days was pretty solid, but after that they be extremely runny. I only had to do one ounce of prune juice.

Perhaps that will work for you. Good luck!
Constipation is properly defined as difficult, irregular and/or infrequent bowel movements - so, judge from the gaps between doodoos, she's constipated. Usual answer (the safest): put a baby-size glycerine suppository in her, it'll make her do a smelly contained by 5-15 minutes.
Answers:    It might be something contained by your diet. I exclusively breastfeed too. My baby was the same approach, she would fart all the time & wouldn't poop for 3 or 4 days at a time. I was starting to think she be colicie. I was going through Mylicon gas drops like crazy, so my daughter's dr had me stop drinking cows milk. He said my daughter be sensitive to the proteins in the milk. It took about 2 wks for it to get out of my system. Since I stopped drinking milk she have been like a completely different baby. She's 12 wks presently & has bowel movements every day & the gas is almost completely gone. You might try that, it's worth a try. Hope that helps.
my little boy was this same and it was colic even he bring his winds really powerfully so i use infacol and was not so bad but was worse near my little girl and reason was she needed bottle after that she was fine apart from she needed drink adjectives and then bring a wind also belly massage serve and i was putin worm cloth on her belly belive all be ok if any of this help consent to me know Source(s): i have got 2 year old doughter and 8 months outdated boy
She has constipation by the sound of it. Trapped wind/colic is going to make her draw her legs up & she's going to be contained by discomfort. I'd take her back to the doc's to be honest & see what they say. As she is breastfed I'd be consumption plenty of fruit & veg as this will help her. Source(s): I have a 10 year old son & a 7 year out-of-date son.
Im a 19 yr antiquated boy, but if i was a baby hears what i think wrong with me, your baby needs to excersise somehow.

Try and achieve the baby to pick things up, to clap, to walk.. Basically try and tire your baby out. Trust me.

=)
