How did your pet(s) act in response to your modern bundle of happiness?
And what type of pet(s) do you have?
well when i had my son i was still living near my mom and my dog.. (which for some reason still lives with her ugh) is older and sniffed him and be mad lol.. she never acted out just jealous and leaves him alone and doesnt really ever budge near him when we are out there... we used to always bring home strays to find them homes or fatten them up and such and my dog i guess is only just thinking great something else to take attention away from me lol she is a small mixed breed dog...
I have 2 cats, one who is notoriously mean, and I be very scared. On the first night, when the tot cried, the mean cat hissed, but then ran away. He's be home a week, and the cats are scared/slightly curious. The nicer cat will normally go and sniff him if I'm feeding him and later run away at the smallest noise. The mean cat ignores him completely. I am particularly careful not to leave them alone together.
Answers: I've always had cats.
When I have my son, my cats were just always curious. I'd be breastfeeding and they'd lunge up onto the pillow and lay there next to my son watching.
If he was lay on his play mat ... they'd lay down with him. Seemed like a protection type thing. One time be funny though ... my son was laying on his play mat in the nude (it be summer) and my cat was sleeping under his kicking legs and he decided to pee ... stupid cat didn't even move until after he be done lol.
I'm now pregnant with my second .. (my son is 5 now) .. and this time I'm having a girl. I enjoy 2 diff cats now and a dog .. so wait and see how these pets will take to a alien addition .. only 5 weeks left to stir!!
I have a beagle who was 1 1/2 when I brought home my twin girls. I sat down on the chouch and consent to him see them. He started shaking at first and he looked really scared. But after just a few minutes he calmed down. Then when one of them would cry he would run over to her like he be checking on her. And when I would go into their room when they were sleeping to check on them he would run in at hand with me. He does fine with them now, he act like they've always been within. We also have a cat, but he didn't act any different.
Our dog refused to be in the same room as her. Whenever we'd try bringing her anywhere practical him he'd run off.
Just very curious, sniffing...I was very reliable with them around her and didn't want them..well the one of them to jump. Didn't even try licking her for a couple months..presently it's a diff story lol.. I have a boxer/mastiff that's 3, an 11 y/o Mini. Schn. and a 1 yr old cat! Cat has never and still doesn't even perform like she is around so no probs there..the old one is obv. too matured..and my boxer is great w/ her and she LOVES her..
I have 3 indoor cats and a 3 month ancient baby - so far - they haven't even approached him - they ignore him and could care smaller quantity - like a noisy toy that bugs them - which is wonderful because i don't have to verbs as much.
so far my kitty cat sleep in the crib. i got to win a new crib for the baby (38 weeks old fetus) because that cat requests the crib i already got so i figure i jus get a tentative one for the sweet little babay and then the cat wont be mad and they will be friends
We have 2 cats and 1 dog, but we live near 2 dogs right now, one is my parents'. They have a yappy little terrier mix who seems scared out of your wits of the baby, especially when she cries or makes noise. My dog is a border collie/shepherd/ something mix, and she loves the newborn. She sniffs her and licks her feet, and likes to lay beside the baby's play blankie on the floor. She's a loving dog and get very excited over children and new people. The cats don't really give the impression of being to care.. they have tried to sleep in her stroller and bouncy form, although we constantly shoo them away.
We have a cat.
At first our cat was a little upset. Went up and sniffed our son, and then kept his distance.
The following weeks our cat adjusted, and although no longer scared, give our son little to no attention.
We have two dogs, a french bulldog name Jules and a Chihuahua named Rosa. Jules loved the baby immediately. Rosa is still adjust, but not agressive in the least. She just ignore him most of the time. Jules stays with Van, our son, all the time. If he is crying, Jules is right there. When we walk into the house on the first day home, Jules was curious, but started licking the baby from the moment we consent to him see him. Rosa just sniffed and went to her bed to pout. They have be great with Van over all though.
It is funny though, Jules was vastly clingy during my pregnancy, but Rosa who is normally very needy, stopped lay with me and kept her distance for the most part. Jules only get a little nervous once when the baby kicked him through my tummy. He freshly jumped and ran.
While we were contained by the hospital, my mom took one of the blankets home to the dogs and let them sniff it. She just laid it in the floor next to them. She said Jules laid on the blanket the whole time, but Rosa was not interested. Source(s): Here are the pics from the first day home. I estimate you can tell, Van was well loved without hesitation :-)
