Do any of you moms or dads out at hand?

have a tattoo in honor of your baby? I be considering getting my sons initials and d.o.b. on my ankle, but idk if that's too "tacky" (as my sister put it)
Placement is key. If you're going to do it on your ankle, be aware that tats that are fully noticeable might attract negative attention. Future employers, idk really anybody could judge you for it. It's wrong, but they might.
But no I don't hold any tats but my husband has one across his shoulder blades. It has nothing to do beside Jayden though, he got it when he was 16.
I will be doing this exact thing to mark my sons first birthday within October this year. I have chosen a design, just something very small and discreet that I will be getting on my hip so lone special people can see it. As long as you are comfortable with it, as long as you are fully aware that it is permanent unless you are prepared to undergo an expensive , painful tattoo removal I say travel for it, it's your body. Let me know when you get it done, we'll compare notes :)
Answers:    I do.
I have a rose on my right shoulder blade with a ribbon going across it and I have my daughter's baptize in the ribbon.
Roses, and flowers in general, are over done, but I get my tattoo for myself and for my daughter. If you want the tattoo, then you should get it. Who cares what everyone else think of it. It's on your body not theirs. And it has special meaning to you. A tattoo with connotation is never tacky.

Here's a picture of mine:

I have a sun on my lower back (it's symbolic to me but not relatebeside yourselfy children) Then above my sun I have Faith & Hope in writing that's like a cross between script and ancient english style letters with a halo over the "&". I hold plans to add DJ (probably inside my sun -- get it? My son in my sun! lol) and possible make the addition of wings next to the girls' names. I send regrets to put Danny Junior on my body, because even with the junior, it's still the name Danny, and that's just asking for trouble! (I enjoy a strong superstition about tattooing the name of your spouse on your body!)
Once I am done breast feed, I want to get two footprints, one from each girl, from their newborn footprints tattooed on me somewhere.
I have be thinking a lot about getting one - but i've always be against getting anyone's name tattooed on myself. I think a lot of populace assume that the person has passed away if you have a dub and date on a tat. I am also scared of how it will look when i'm 75. I don't really want a wrinkled up rose sagging down my butt that was originally tattooed on my hip. It will purloin a lot of consideration and design thought for me to go through with it.
As soon as I'm done nursing, I'm going to return with one. It's a quote from Romeo and Juliet. "Did my heart know love till now?" And I'm going to have her name and birthday within there too. Yours isn't tacky. If you're into tattoos, I think the best ones are ones next to meaning.
It is easier to show you the picture of my tattoo, so I will include a intertwine. Obviously, I don't think it is tacky.

I wouldn't put the date of birth though, because you mostly see that in tattoos where on earth the person has passed away.

I would never get a spouse's dub though, it is bad luck!

Oh, and figlio mio means my son. In case you didn't know!

I wouldn't carry one, I have other ways of showing love for my baby.
Don't let other peoples' opinion stop you if it's something you want to do. To each their own.
Both my husband and I have one. I don't think it's gluey at all. My mom also has a tattoo of all her children and so does my in-law next to her kids. So tell your sister to shut it and go get some sexy ink =)
It's up to you I don't think it is adhesive my mom has a cross with a rose and it has adjectives my brothers and sisters names on it and it is beautiful but now she is sort of embarrassed of it for some reason it's on her arm. I'm probably going to get a Lily on my shoulder beside my girls names along the petals.
yes about to add another turtle for my newborn

nope but i got a stick figure guy pushing a grassland mower right by my pubic hair

wanna see?
My husband won"t do it because he feels resembling when you get tattoos like that its suppose to be in the remembrance of someone.
I don't, but my husband does. He have my initials in small script on his left pec (near his heart, cute I know hehe) and after Caitlin was born he get her initials below mine. And it's just my opinion as a woman from the good ole' south that tattoos are more appropriate for guys... My husband doing it as a guy, I infer it's very sweet. Most women in South Carolina don't have tattoos ;)
I don't think it's gluey, but I wouldn't do it personally. I'm not a big fan of tatoos of women. No offense. :)
I own my sons foot prints from when he was born on my shoulder blade with his birth date.
My husband have our daughter's name on his forearm. It's a great tattoo.
not a mom but my sister is but she does not have one
