6 week old- devolution surrounded by consumption pattern.. ?
my daughter will be 6 weeks on wednesday. for the past couple days, she hasn't been eating. she will nurse for give or take a few 5 minutes, then not eat for up to 10 or 12 hours. she nursed for about 45 minutes around 9pm concluding night. she hasn't eaten since then. it is in a minute 1pm. she has had a couple extremely fluid-y poopy diapers. she has also be sleeping almost constantly for the past couple days, which isn't like her. could she be going through a growth spurt or something else? is this normal?
we're going to see how she eat for the rest of the day & if she doesn't do any better, we're going to take her to the doctor tomorrow as she really shouldn't lose any weight. gratitude!
Answers: No that isn't a growth spurt. That's not good. Is she just outright refusing to drink, you should be trying to get her to eat as much as you can right now. I would instinctively take her to urgent care immediately if she won't chomp through because she's probably very dehydrated since you say this have gone on the past few days, and on top of that is have watery stools. She is sleeping a lot because her blood sugar is low.
Get her to eat, or obtain her to the ER.
