When should i take my child baptized?
i was raised catholic but have be attending a baptist church and would like my son to be raised baptist. what age do baptists usually baptize their kids
when they are newborn but i didn't do mine until 18months but some society plan it before the baby is born and have the date set already.
How almost not baptizing them, and not 'raising them baptist'.
Until they're much older, they are incapable of having a religious belief and since they are essentially programmed to believe everything you tell them as kids (without being able to filter out whether what you're describing them is good/bad/makes sense/doesn't make sense), plying them with your beliefs is nothing more than indoctrination.
Seriously, what make you think it is your right? Your kid is also their own person and deserves the right to develop as their own person short being brainwashed. Why not bring them up teaching them HOW to think fairly than WHAT to think?
Answers: my husband is baptist, they dont name until the child is old enough to decide for themself. usually when they are elder. my husband was 10. his family are all baptised and they believe contained by waiting until the child decides they want to be baptist so they are not forcing a religion on them. i come from a big catholic family and i know they do it as infants, so we are baptizing the baby my religion instead of his.
do you kno the definition of 'baptize'? what is it to be baptized? to be baptized means to start fresh & live with no sin. ah baby does not kno what ah 'sin' is. you shouldnt name someone until they are old enough to understand what ah sin is & until they are outmoded enough to actually start to sin & kno the difference between right from wrong.
until your child grows up to realize what ah sin is. im Christian. babies already belong to God, they do not need to be baptized. Jesus wasnt baptized until age 30.
I don't think Baptists practice infant baptism. It is my intelligence that they wait until the child is old enough for them to agree on for themselves whether or not to follow Jesus Christ as their personal savior. Which is my beliefs too, though I am not baptist.
Being raised Lutheran, the average age at my old church was anywhere from 1 month up to one year, and sometimes more rapidly, sometimes later. Really, that is a personal decision you as parents are to put together.
Congrats!
We had our son baptized when he was 3 months hoary, in a wonderful church that's 800 someodd years old.
Neither of us are church regulars; baptisms here are a form of public recordkeeping.
When ever you are organized, I am catholic and I baptized my 2 older ones when they were like 5-7 months ripened and my littlest one I haven't gotten to it yet cause we are waiting for his godparents to get married. they are gonna get hold of married in sept of this year.
when he's antediluvian eneogh. when he can make this dicition for himself.
so when he grow up he don't have to blame you for his batism.
