Join the club. lol My 7 month old goes to bed around 9pm, wake up sometime around 1am, then again at like 4am or so, and gets up for the sunshine around 6:30am or 7. I'm sorry I have no advise. I wish I did, basis I could sure use some as well.
It sounds like he freshly isn't tired at 7:30. Try putting him to bed a bit later. (Or, conversely, if he's overtired, he may not be able to fall asleep, so try shifting it a bit previously.)
Or, if you are expecting him to put himself to sleep, try rocking/nursing him to sleep, and holding him until he's deeply asleep. THere is absoutely NOTHING wrong with doing this.
And if baby is going to bed at 7:30, he WILL rouse at night to eat. 12 hours is just too long for a newborn this age to go without eating.
Answers: Grant is 7 months old and still wakes up at hours of darkness unless I keep him up until 10pm or so, but since I like to be in bed by 8-9 he usually wake up at least once by 2-3am. Then we are usually up by 6-7am and then he takes a sleep for 2 hours or so in the morning. That is just his routine and since I was let go from my job when he was 11 weeks old, I a moment ago get up with him and let my bf sleep through the darkness. But he does sleep with us...(I know...bad parent...). I don't need citizens telling me that, but it worked for us, so thats what we do. To each their own, like the female above me said, you just need to work on a routine.
Oh, the joys of parenthood! You need to develop a bedtime routine. Keep lay him down at the same time every night - he'll get the hang down of it.
Don't expect him to sleep through though. He's still young. My son is 9 months old and hasn't slept through yet. Babies will sleep through the darkness when they're ready.
bring used to it! I have 4 kids, and I rarely get a dark without at least 1 visiting during the darkness!
But seriously.why don't you give him a decent afternoon snack, and then deferment dinner until a bit later, and then put him down after that..that way you ar keeping his routine (sleep after dinner), but also tiring him a bit more and hopefully go and get him through the night a bit longer.
babies sleeping patterns can change smartly particularly when they have growth spurts.. is he on solids yet? conceivably introduce some potato or yoghurt lat in the day to give him extra spirit to get through the night and also make him perceive fuller for longer.
