Not walking at 16 months?

My son is 16 almost 17 months and he isn't walking. i try constantly to get him to walk while holding my hands, but he instantly falls to the ground. he can wander really well furniture gliding, and seems to ME that he just doesn't want any backing and wants to learn it all by himself. is this middle-of-the-road? i took him to the DR. and he said that his legs were really good, and that he doesn't seem worried at adjectives, and the daycare have said the same thing
don't verbs until he is 24mths and still not walking. There may be a developmental delay. All babies are not the same. My cousin walked at 9mths. Some babies own their own time. He may not be ready but keep walking him like you are.
I have been going thru the same point. My son only starting walking holding fingers at 16 months (he also got glasses at this time) and after not too much, though he cruised well and loves push toys. My doctor said not to worry until 18 months, when he turned 18 months he referred him physical therapy. For some point he is favoring the right leg a little bit, he had the 1st visit today and she get him to take a step unassisted. But, they said the only problem was human being wobbly on the right leg and motivation, no major delays/physical problems.
The PT did notice that he moved better and seemed more out of harm`s way in his little hiking boots versus bare feet-they are stride rite natural motion system within the "Dylan" style, you might try a pair!
Give it a couple more months and then ask about PT. I am really hoping it works for my son!
Answers:    I'm not sure if it's going to thing to you since both your doctor and your daycare told you it's fine, but they are right. Babies go at their own rate, and quite frankly, he'll walk when he's dutiful and ready, not when you are.

Sure, he's on the upper end of when babies start walking, but that doesn't mean that he's "slow" or not as smart. Some will start as rash as 9 months, and others, like yours, may take a whole lot longer, and it's adjectives NORMAL.

A 9-month old walking is not smarter than your child because they are walking earlier. It's just the approach it is. Babies hit their milestones at different ages and it's all okay.

If your doctor says that his legs are fine, then he's fine. You utter he wants to do it all by himself and that's fine too. Let him go and he will do it when he's geared up.
unless he has a physical issue, where on earth his leg muscles weren't strong enough, there's nothing to worry more or less. My son started walking at 14months. It was like one day he realize he could do it and he just went. It'll probably happen incredibly quick for your son, too. He'll do it when he's ready.

What got my son going be that me and my mother were sitting about 4ft apart from each other near our legs spread, feet pretty much touching, as if we were rolling a ball spinal column in forth. My son was between us and I would hold his hips/hands as he walked away from me and tolerate go as he got too far, he'd continue towards my mom who would ensnare him if necessary. Then she'd send him back my opening. Very quickly he was walking back and forth between us beside no support. And from that day on he was a walker.
try a baby walker or a kid bouncer..he needs to learn balance or confidence accurate luck.
my little sister didn't stride until she was 17 months old. My daughter walked a bit later than that. Every child is different. don't worry he will get it. basically give him plenty of floor time.
babies swot at their own pace. My daughter was clearly afraid of letting go so it took her 16 months to stride. One friend of mine was really worried and her daughter just needed a bit of physical Therapy (PT) and walked at 18 months.

Have you ever taken him to an orthopedist?? usually they are the specialist to budge to when something like this rises concern in a family. Give him another month, if he isn't walking by the time he is 18m bring him to the specialist, it won't hurt and you will unrule many things that could be happening.
