Baby like to suck but is too small to hold pacifier surrounded by his mouth?
I dont mind keeping him on breast in the day but at night he's up wanting to suck, not singular eat. any solutions? he's only 5 days old. i know its precipitate for pacifier, but i cant sleep with him latched onto me... thanks
They do sell newborn pacifiers. You may have to buy several brands until you find one that your baby like though. Congrats on your new bundle =)
If its just the comfort of sucking, buy him a newborn dummy (pacifier where on earth you are).
I don't think 5 days is too early, just be sure hes not hungry. My son needed feed every 2 hours until he was 4mths, then it became every 3 hrs.
If you preserve him on your breast just to comfort him, he may reject the dummy later.
I couldn't get any of my children on a dummy and they be breast fed...
Answers: My daughter is breastfed and she was a sucker lol.. She have a binky when she came home from the hospital.. just go to walmart or local store and buy the newborn sizes. If you dont buy the hospital type pacifier, net sure you clean it often because bacteria can find trapped where the nipple meets the plastic Source(s): experience
It is not early for a pacifier. buy him the one that says 0-6mths. That is the purpose of it is for sucking when not hungry and just requests to be pacified--hence the word pacifier.
I tried an orthodontic teat first of all but its very firm for a newborn to keep this in their mouth.
Try a cherry teat 0-6 months and then you can other switch at 6 months. Worked a treat for my LO!
