My 3 mo. will not stay on his rear at darkness?
so my little guy has recently figured out how to un-swaddle himself and roll out of his sleep positioner. [so concluding night I took the sleep positioner out of the crib and no longer swaddle him because he ends up on his tummy no matter what and I didnt like finding him resembling that on top his blanket upside down...]
my question is how do I keep him on his back? he keep rolling to his stomach.
my daughter refuse to sleep on her back. for the first month after her birth, my husband & i would take shifts in the night to stay up n make sure she was okay sleeping on her tummy, until we realized she be so good about turning her head from side to side in need trying to suffocate herself...but it may have also been cuz her bassinet wasn't really soft either. she'd see off blankets n never use them, so we ended up taking them out too n kept the house nice n warm.
apparently some kids can single sleep on their tummies, she wouldn't have it any other way.
--these days in her crib, we only just have a lil couch pillow that she actually lays across or actually lays her pave the way n upper body on, soOoo cute to see!! :)
My son would with the sole purpose sleep on his side or back. If you are worried about the whole SIDS things, don't. Look it up and you will see that presently they believe that it is something in the child's brain and there is nothing you can do to prevent it. So tolerate your little one sleep how ever he wants. As far as the swaddle some baby's just don't like it. It be good you took the positioner out. Your little guy is just letting you know how he wants to sleep, he is fine.
Answers: Some babies naturally want to sleep on their tummies. My son would never sleep on his back for more than ten minutes. I finally gave up and held him while he slept. I terminated up laying in my bed with him sleeping on my chest on his tummy. My husband simply laid him on his tummy. We asked our doctor who said, as long as you make sure he has no blankets, the chances of anything desperate happening is low. He is 15 months old. He still sleeps on his tummy. I think he is competent to cuddle into himself better and stay warm if he gets cold, even though we give him a blanket immediately.
My sisters daughter never wanted to sleep on her back either.
You can't keep him off his tummy, if he rolls himself there he's fine!!
