Would it be ok to start my child on the Enfamil Gentlease/Prosobee Forumla from the start?
With my first son, we gave him Enfamil Formula. After a couple of months, he got real colicky and we completed up having to change the formula to the Enfamil Prosobee for less gas.
Now our second newborn is due at the end of this month and I was wondering if it would be ok to start him on the Enfamil Gentlease/Prosobee from the start? I don't see a problem, but just considered necessary some other Mom'sj/Dad's advice on what they think, or have be told by their Pediatrician. I will also ask my pediatrician as well, but just want to get some head up first.

I would consult with your doctor but we did the same thing near our kids (with ok from ped) My first child at 2wks old have really bad reflux and be put on zantac and i was bf until 4months. At 4mon he was put on Isomil. My second child was on similac w/iron the first 48hours and spit up every bit after respectively feeding and we changed him to isomil and he did fine. My 2 girls we just put on Isomil right from the start and have have no problems. Source(s): Mom to a 7 1/2, 5 1/2, almost 4 & 3mon old
respectively baby is different - your next child may not have any problems beside colic and would do just fine with reg. enfamil formula. Breastfeeding would be the best milk to give. It instinctively decreases the risk of having any problem associated with artificial milk and adjectives babies (there is only 1 illness in infants that they can not breastfeed). But if you choose not to breastfeed and want to use artificial milk later I would use the gentle ease and not use soy formula (prosobee). Soy formula should be the last on the index.
Answers: its best to start them on what you plan on using so you dont have to switch later on, it would be ok.
Of course it would be okay it is far better to start them out on something then to switch it when they are already here. I had no choice, but to switch both of my children they be both lactose intolerant and I could not foresee that. Good Luck and I hope I helped
