How do I rouse my 10 month mature to crawl?
My son will be 10 months old next week and he's still not crawling. He can inch backwards, roll both directions, sits for at least 30 minutes, can move from a sit to his tummy, and he can rock on adjectives fours. But he can't seem to get any kind of forward momentum.
My husband and I will sit on the floor near him and put his legs under him and try to help. This sometimes works but other times it seems resembling my son's frustration increases. I read that most kids can crawl forward by 10 months. My son also does not pull to a stand.
My son is very fat (pushing 23 pounds) and I'm wondering if he freshly doesn't have the strength to "bench" all that weight.
He is breastfed and eat solid foods great, he points and babbles and has even said a couple words ("daddy" of course be first!). His fine motor skills are normal: he can use a pincer grasp (thumb and forefinger) to pick up anything and feeds himself finger food no problem. It's just his gross motor (crawling) that troubles me. I give attention to he'll be late to walking too.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
my daughter didn't start to crawl until she be like 10 1/2 months or something like a month ago or smoething she is almost 12 months now so i wouldn't verbs they do it when they want to
set him up on one side of the room and you both go to the other side and call him - he'll find his course to you - it's in his basic instinct - most importantly, don't worry too much - he'll be finishing university past you know it, so seize all these moments. They'll never be here again.
Answers: My son didn't crawl till almost 11 mos. We took him to a playground for babies call "Gymboree" where the teacher there showed us some stuff to help get him going (he be also a chubby bunny!!). Set up a gently sloping surface, either pillows stacked progessively lower, or a mat propped up...you get the view, be creative. Then put him facing downward so gravity kind of helps him slide down and help him to crawl. Also climbing up help to give them the idea of what they should be doing...at Gymboree that had the cutest mini-rock climbing wall, and you slowly facilitate them up it. You might be able to creat something like that at home. Anything to get their arms and legs moving within that army style movement. My son was crawling in no time and walking shortly after that. I fully suggest enrolling him if within is one near you!
delight in it while he is still cause once he goes ... look out
he will get it
My baby will be 9 months surrounded by one week & still isn't crawling either. He has everything you mentioned down pretty well. I've be told & read various articles that some babies skip crawling & go straight to walking. Let him crawl on his own every baby reach his next milestone when they are well & ready.
Maybe bring him to an open grass park, and place him about 6 feet away from you, and maintain the toys and snacks with you. Let him crawl over to you that way.
If he's getting so upset and frustrated, then stop the exercise, because you don't want him thinking that you're SO far away from him.
Usually when I do that beside my son, he just sits in his spot and tries to chew on grass. Then if he feels approaching it, he'll crawl over.
