Tips on introducing food to a 4 month mature?

ok so i bought my son first foods from gerber and i dont really know how i should go about giving it to him im scared hes going to choke or something. close to what time after a nap, when hes happy, or when hes starving? its approaching mushed peas, pears, apples, bannanas etc. i know i need to get the infant spoons with the plastic tip so it doesnt hurt his gums
I would wait at smallest 2 more mos like the lady above said. If you are breastfeeding you can go even longer.
Start with the baby rice cereal, than I started next to the fruits first I did applesauce, bananas, pears, than peaches, than I started the veggies sweet potatoes, carrots, squash, peas which all mine hated lol, and than greenbeans I also started jarred food at 4 months hoary. Your baby wont choke its all mushy food.
Answers:    It is totally ok to start him on fruits/veggies instead of cereal.

Generally you want to pick a time of daytime when he is less likely to be fussy, like belatedly morning or mid afternoon. Give teh food either right after or shortly after his breastmilk/formula. This is partly because it usually easier when they aren't starving, and in some measure because milk should be their primary nutrition until they are 12 months old - you always want to do that _first_, then you can administer them as much as they want of solids.

Scoop a little food out of the jar and into another dish with a clean spoon, perchance about 1 Tbs. This is so the saliva doesn't get into the jar. Your baby will probably not munch through the whole jar the first time and you want to be able to save the vestiges for 2-3 days in the fridge.

As you say, you need to use a rubber tipped spoon. Some babies will also prefer to thieve the food off your finger at first.

If your baby spits the food back out right away, he may still own his tongue-thrust reflex, since he is still on the young side for solids (the AAP recommends 6 months). In that case, you will probably of late need to wait a few weeks and try again. Its hard to be long-suffering, but it goes much eaiser if your baby is ready!

Almost any first food is promising to cause some tummy upsets and gas because it is a whole new article for their stomach to get used to. If you do the solids during the day, it is less predictable to interfere with night sleep. In my dd solids also caused constipation while she used to. Because of this, you might want to steer away from the more constipating foods for a couple of weeks (like bananas and applesauce) and start with sometime like pears that helps prevent constipation.

You want to hang about 3-4 days between introducing new foods, in case your kid has a reaction. At fist, just grant solids once per day until your baby isi comfortable with drinking. THough at first he probably won't eat much, it won't be long before he eats a full jar. As long as he have nursed/had a bottle a little before the solids, that is fine - he can own as much as he wants!.
He's ill-equipped. Tip: Wait 2 more months.
