How can i hold my 10-year-old (boy) cousin settled? (this is long!)?
ok so my 10-year-old cousin is coming to stay with us for about 3 days next weekend, and i want to know how to maintain him busy and occupied! i'm an only child, and 13, so i'll be expected to play with him. that's fine and adjectives, but being a girl, i have no idea what 10-year-old boys resembling to do! i know he likes video games, but i only have mostly girly ones. and it's summer. i want to be outside! but that presents a problem, because there's these two boys within the neighborhood that are about my cousin's age, and they are very mean. they hit culture and cuss and i do not want my cuz playing with them!
oh and just so you know, we live in indiana, so plz don't suggest going to the shore. we may go to Holiday World as well. oh! that reminds me... my best friend is coming with us to Holiday World, and very soon my cousin will be coming also... i told her today and she was like, "oh. that's okay i guess." i'm afraid we won't have as much fun next to him around! i know that sounds horrible, but it's the truth. you don't have to answer this portion of the question if you don't want to, but it would be a big help!
gratitude in advance and God bless!
I don't think the neighbor boys will just come into your yard, so jump out there and play a board game or read some books. Does he like lego's? Maybe your parents can carry a lego kit for him and he can build it while you're sunbathing or whatever it is you want to do outside. Explore the neighborhood. It might be tiny and boring to you, but it'll be new and different to your cousin. It's also individual 3 days so I doubt the bratty boys would have that much influenced on him in that short of time. I'd introduce him if he spotted them and if he doesn't want to play with them, he doesn't hold to. Also, have him bring some video games from home for the game system you have. Maybe you'll discover that you close to some 'boy' games. :-)
Introduce him to some new friends contained by your neighborhood.
Answers: Have him bring his bike if he can - you can show him around your neighborhood (even though its small and boring to you).
I liked the suggestion he bring some of his "boy" games and even a few of his toys next to him.
If your family has a sprinkler ask your mom if you can set it up and run through it. Ask if you two can wash the car(s) my nieces and elder nephews love doing this lol and I get a free car wash.
Do a cooking project together, you are unmistakably allowed to go online so look up some easy recipes for kids. Remember that boys resembling "gross" stuff, lol. This is a good one http://jas.familyfun.go.com/recipefinder…

Hello. My suggestion would be if you don't want your cousin hanging out with the other 10 year old boys because of how they conduct yourself you should tell him straight up the minute he gets there. He's antiquated enough to understand they aren't good! And for the second portion, take him to places around your neighborhood. What is there to do where you live? is nearby a recreation center? swimming pool? movies? If so you should do something different everyday! First of all i would give him a tour around the place so he become familiar with everything.
May i ask what holiday world is? lol i've never heard of the place but if it's fun you should whip him there as well! You should have a couple of your friends over and introduce him to folks you know rather than the mean boys. You and him can prepare dinner or lunch together and rent a movie as something fun to do as well! my boy and i own a father son day and he loves helping me cook in the kitchen! and afterwards we either progress swimming or go see or rent a movie!
hope this helps, have an awesome time near your cuz
