We've created an amazing database of classroom games for ESL students which might be functional for you. Although they are designed with English students in mind, they're all helpful and fun. Check out http://www.taiwanenglish.com/games.php
Good luck!
You should travel to the dollar store (or thrift stores or garage sales) and stock up on blocks and creative building things. Activity books and of course coloring books are good for a while. Some kids will zone in on them for a long time.
I set aside one flurry drawer in my house that was specifically for the boy i was babysitting. That process he could go in there and draw from whatever he wanted and just be creative.
A stack of plain tabloid and a bunch of crayons or markers can go a long way too.
Answers: umm well for the boy
