My 8 year prehistoric daughter sometimes nap?

My 8 year old daughter quit napping when she was 3.5. Now just just this minute she has started again. She gets home from camp at 1 and go into her room and naps. I would say camp make her tired, but it's a creative writing camp and I'm positive she gets enough sleep at darkness. I'm not particularly worried about it, but I was merely wondering if any one else has an older child that seems to powernap regularly.
She is probably growing. If you think about it babies sleep because they are growing (as capably as being tired). She is 8 and I am sure her body is changing, the rest will do her good it is nil to worry about.

Ya kids just pretty much do that during summer if here tired. If shes going to bed still at a reasonable time she should be ok. I babysit and everyday around naptime noon-1sh area I ask everyone who is tired and everyone who is gets a cot.
(When I read out I ask everyone I mean everyone 7+ because if your younger than that you have to nap here.)
im almost 12 and i take nap. not every day or at a certain time though. Just when im tired. =]
My daughter is almost 8 and on happening she takes a nap. Just because it is a creative writing camp doesn't designed that it isn't exhausting. I wouldn't worry about it too much. I know all through college I would come home and nap.
I'd nap at around 2:00 everyday if I could. I've always be a napper. My 11-year-old doesn't nap and I find it odd because I've always nap. I guess it's just one of those things.
I am 14. I take nap not regulary jsut when I am too tired. I went to a day camp and come home and would at least lay down every day.
Even as a mother of two teenage kids, this is tough to answer without knowing the specifics of her enthusiasm.
In my opinion, if napping was not part of her common routine during school or say last summer, later you are best not to dismiss it.
I would ask her first why she feels tired and see what her response is. Look for other changes in her behavior, diet, heartiness levels, reactions to friends, family, how she looks as within flushed cheeks, pallor, etc. If anything doesn't sit well with you, it's worth the trip to the doctor.
Just want to point out that the napping isn't sitting well next to you. You have to trust your first instinct these days and then err on the side of alertness.
My son contracted mono a few months ago. He was taking care of business and doing the things he is responsible for but complained about mortal tired. Mono is very common among kids (he was 13 at the time) and the most discernible symptom is the child sleeping more or seemingly lethargic. It's a simple urine test and an antibiotic to clear it up. Left unchecked it can cause abundant problems.
Good luck and good health to you all.

PS. He also have strep throat at the same time and said nothing about it which is unusual for him. His just complaint was feeling tired. Sometimes they just don't speak up and it's our career to always watch closely and to figure it out.
It is summer, and I hope at camp they are doing some physical activities. I dream up it is normal she is napping.
im 19. i take nap.I recommened a childrens multi-vitamin and just talk about it near her doctor during her next checkup.
I'm 26 and some times need a nap. Scratch that, I want a nap right now!
maybe she's tired
its summer, its hot and she still is young plenty to take naps
Answers:    My cousin continued to take naps until he was 9 or 10 it lately put him in a better mood during the day.

Even creative writing camps can be tiring as expected she probably has friends there and she is probably not just sitting around writing adjectives day and if she is that might be why she is so tired is i sit around all day contained by a relaxed state i get extremely tired maybe you should put her in a military camp where she is active.

Also take her to the doctor my elder cousin started getting tired alot and went to the doctor and found out she had type II diabetes.
powerfully thats normal
yep my 7yr older takes naps at certain times. Like today we go to a birthday party that lasted 4 hrs and she ran around playing near the other kids and as soon as we got home she went to her bedroom and took a nap. I would voice that as long as shes not taking them every day or thats shes says shes tired every day after I wouldn't be concerned about it. But if she starts becoming tired all the time and or complaining of other symptoms then I would contact the dr.
