How to set up an hindrance course for a six year olds birthday?

My son loves the Ninja Warrior show on G4. He often mimicks the obstacle course while at the playground. I was thinking that for his birthday it would be fun to set up our own six year ripened version. Any ideas would be great. Thanks!
