Personally I don't think it would be a good model just because I think 12 is young. But near the way times are now a days, I've been shocked by what 12 year olds are doing presently than what they use to do when I was 12. (and I'm only 23)
Besides, don't you have to be a faultless age to get piercings like that?? Or am I acting like an overprotective mother not hip anymore? -.-

12 year old isn't typically grow enough to take care of ear piercings tolerate alone a tongue piercing. Plus a 12 year old is still growing so that would effect a piercing.

Most women get their tongues pierced because they want to show it off and guys relate tongues to french kissing or blow job. Do you want this 12 year old to be associated with that? It's your call...

No. The tongue is a very sensitive organ and there is a very esteemed vein that if pierced incorrectly can get very inadequately infected, even result in death. Also, if the piercing is removed the hole cannot just be allowed to close up, it must be surgically corrected. Plus a 12 year ripened is still growing. All piercing and surgeries, whether necessary or voluntary are an assault on the body and puts terrific stress on the body.
