My son think he is a dinosaur. how do i stop him from this?
Ok, so my 14 year old son thinks he is a dinosaur. He crawls around my house and acts freshly like one. he tries to attack my little kitten and chases me around going "rawr" . he is completely serious also. once he actually went outside to chase one of the stray cats and almost get hit by a truck. i don't know what to do to stop him from doing this. he has no friends. he thinks that his stuff animals are part of his own flesh and blood and also has imaginary dinosaur friends. people imagine that he is mentally retarded but hes not. please help? best answer gets points

I think it might be kind of like how some kids bring in imaginary friends. There lonely so they create another person or character or something close to your son is doing. Maybe try putting him in after school care or something similar to that so he can interact with other kids and not be so lonely, he'll grow out of it and ee hoe other kids act :)

under this age kids do strange things ...if he think he is adianasaur just treat him like adianasour dont give him food or anything nd saw to him dinasaur furrow things their own ...or he is doing this to attract you

Hmmm ... this one requires some thought. Teenagers have a vivid imagination and can be dramatic. If reality isn't going well, they can repeatedly retreat into fantasy world. Perhaps that is what your son is doing.
I'd try to get him out more. Go hiking next to him, get him involved in sports, art, etc. Diversion may be the best therapy.

Answers: make some meteors. crumple up some article into balls and color them red, yellow, orange, and brown and if you want put some string on the closing of them and start throwing them at your son. tell him mass extinction just happen and he's late
Now, if he is 14 years of age than that a little unfortunate. im simply 12 and i would like to be stopped doing that with temptation (ice cream or swimming) what events does he like? if he has none then involve surrounded by him more not saying you don't. Do not be tensed. He is not a pre-schooler so it is not tough for you to explain. Tell him that he is your son and not a dinosaur. Sit with him when he eat and tell him his childhood naughty deeds. Narrate him how you cared him when he be a baby, when he went to school. Make him apprehend that dinosaurs are imaginary and he is not of that kind. Hope he has his own friends, agree to them also involve in some other games making him forget about dinosaurs.Do not give up.adjectives the best!
He might be schizophrenic, get him tested.
Take him to your pediatrician and have him checked out for medical problems. If the doctor say he's ok physically, send him to summer camp. for a couple of weeks. It sounds to me like he may involve a change of scenery so he can make some friends within a place where he is not known as a dinosaur!
I'd also tell him that dinosaurs can't find a drivers license (it's only two years away!
