I just now asked my seven year elderly son what he requests to be when he grows up?
and to my surprise he said Robin Meade...I told him,"but Robin Meade is a woman." He didn't say anything and continued to play with his transformer toys.
what should I think?
Hopefully that he be just joshin you. Its a good sign that right after he said that he went support to his transformers. I wouldn't worry about it.
**A thumbs down for an honest, moral answer? Ok trolls, its time for you to all go away YA.
My son's 7 yrs old and wants to be a comedian, because he loves to construct people laugh,an entomologist, because he loves bugs and police officer because he loves to help those ,when he grows up.Don't worry about your son wanting to be Robin Meade when he grows up.It just channel there's something about her that he likes.don't push the issue with him, only just let him be himself and he will eventually be interested in other things as well.
Don't worry nearly it. When i was seven i told my parents that i wanted to be a veterinarian...but then i turned around and said i changed my mind--i looked-for to just be a dog instead. When you're little you just want to be whatever you presume is cool. maybe for some reason your kid thinks that this Robin Meade is cool. Now if you ask him again when he's 17 and you grasp the same type of response, it's time to have a talk...
Well, ask him again and if he say the same thing say "You want to be a report reporter?" Seven year old will say that they want to be someone, it probably means they want to be resembling that person, its like their role model. She does the Morning Express with Robin Meade. He might want to be a morning reporter close to her. Do you watch CNN in the morning? Maybe that's how he got the opinion that he wants to be like her.
Its' all ok dude.. he's only seven and he will choose wat stands out to him so it's adjectives guds unless his iq is 200
absoulutely nought of it he is only seven i had odd things i required to be when i was seven too he probably just heard you say-so Robin Meade in the other room and thats why he said it.
and so what if he is gay anyway accept him for him and love him unconditionally
Answers: when I be 7 I wanted to be Batman and I wanted to be a boy (but I still played house and barbie dolls and wore dresses!)
When I was 8 I needed to be a power ranger and when I was 14 I wanted to be a star trek Officer! LOL
Just Becuase Robin Meade is a woman and your son is a boy doesn't mean anything! I don't know what she "does" but probably he envies what she does or how pwerful she is, or whatever.
I liked Batman because he was cloudy and cool and had a cool car, none of the things I would ever be as I knew I really did want babies and like dresses and pink!
Many girls want to be *male* icon and no one says a article, but when a boy wants to be a female *icon* everyone worries!
Like Madonna said in one of her songs: Girls can cut their hackle short, wear trousers, as it's ok to be a boy, but for boy to look like a girl is degrading.
Im (EDIT- NOT) saying you think this, Im purely pointing out that there is nothing to worry just about and no need to *think* anything.
He's 7!
What you "should think" is not the point. What you did be perfect! 7-year-olds are exploring "possibilities" he asked, you answered.
Now drop it and don't "think about it again till he brings it up.which he probably will not!
Don't sweat it. Why, you might ask...
FIRST OF ALL, he's only seven. When asked what he wanted to be when he grows up, my brother said an olive. Now, a couple years following, he wants to be a wrestler, or a cartoon artist. Little kids change their mind ALL THE TIME. My childly procession of professions were firefighter, ballerina, inventor, author, and now, I go an arts dignified school and major in show. So think back... what did YOU want to be as a child?
SECONDLY, he may have thought Robin Meade be a guy [robin hood, etc] and was embarrassed when he found out she was in actual fact a girl.
THIRDLY, maybe he meant he wanted to be an anchor/reporter [i didn't exactly study up so i'm not entirely sure what she if truth be told does].
and LASTLY, Robin Meade is a very pretty woman. So even if your son does want to be her when he grows up, be proud. Even if you're one of those gay-hating human beings, be with your son all the channel. I doubt you are, though :)
TRANSFORMER TOYS!
don't worry more or less it. he probably still hasn't grasped the thought that he will always be a boy. But maybe if she has a pixie hairstyle or something (i'm not sure) he may think she is a boy.
don't give it a second thought, it's just kid stuff.
I required to be a nudist at that age. Source(s): I was a messed up kid. lol
dont think.
you get lots of chance, random and funny answers from kids.
Well, when I was his age I though everyone but me was a robot if that tells you anything...
Robin Meade is amazing! He will get over it, 7 year olds don't decide this early
he probably means he wishes to be in her position. (have her job)
very well he is a little confused right now and he will hopefully grow out of it
its fine he will grow out of it
maybe she's contained by his mind.. anyways his just a seven year old boy.. but be careful... gays don't reproduce but are multiplying.. no offense.. it's true..
idk what you should think...but you should expose him to more men.
because if he is around women alot, then he wont know the difference between men and women.
At the age of seven, children don't really hold a concept of those kinds of things. He could mean that he wants to own the same career as her, but not necessarily care that it might hold sounded like he wants to "be" Robin Meade. As stated already, he will most likely grow out of it, however, if he doesn't, he may revise his wording about it slightly, as in he wants to be similar to her rather than just stating her name,
