My 11yr son aged keep vomiting at night-help!?
I can't tie it to any specific food that he's eaten, and it always happens at dark, he's never running a fever or sick the next day, he's be on Prevacid for a while trying to stop it, but it hasn't worked, has anyone else had a child that does this and what was the problem?
Maybe he is doing it just to get out of going to bed. Or it could be an attention article. You should ask him if these are his problems. When I was 11, I used to fake illnesses as well. Source(s): My honesty and experience.
Hmmm.does he eat anything spicy or something near a lot of salt before he go to bed? if possible, then he might have GERD or within other words, he might have heartburn. It is common in children. Some symptoms include nausea, vomitting, constant belching, and occaisionally, fever. Try to watch what is in certain foods. Also, if this happen again during the evening, try calming him down and try giving him water (small sips only)
hope this helps!
Answers: Does he hold an upset stomach, or does he start coughing hard and then vomit? If it's coughing that triggers it, you might want to see if he's allergic to something (possibly his feather pillow). My son used to cough at hours of darkness (no cold or anything) and sometimes he'd cough so hard he'd throw up.
Either way, check into the allergy angle. You could even try replacing his feather pillow next to a non allergenic one. Chances are, if he's only getting sick at night, and you can't tie it to a specific food, it's something in his bedroom -- dust mites, mold, feathers.
It's worth a try anyway. And for what it's worth, I importantly doubt that he's doing this for attention as the first answer alluded to. There's no way he could fake vomitting!
try feeding him a little rash and go for a family walk or something.burn bad some of the food. does he have any issues with friends or school, or even his mass? he might be trying to lose weight this way, thinking that he is too fat. especially common
Have you be to the doctor? I would check into whether he's having seizures. I've heard more or less this on a medical show. It caused the child to vomit only at night. I would travel to a doctor and have him evaluated if it continues.
