i live in the south the deep south and they did away next to paddling years ago? where on earth do they still do that? and no i do not approve of it. first of all spanking is one article but a paddle is another..Spanking past a certain age is of late ridiculous. Of course not, but I work contained by a school and see SO many kids that are out of control beside no discipline at home.it's scary to think they are the future of our society. Maybe parents should be using the paddles at home?
Heck no, I'm sorry but when it comes to my children, I will decide when and if they get spanked, and when or if they do, it will be me who does it. I will not allow anyone to put a hand on my children

The fact is that the principal rarely uses the paddle. Most kids cash their behavior when they "see" the paddle and think about the consequences.
The concrete problem with public schools nowadays is that you hold alot of parents defending their kids bad actions and threatening the schools if they punish their little darling.
My son got paddled at elementary school because I told them they better spank him if he doesn't act right. I own spent time at the school and I see how the kids are bouncing off the walls, cussing , fighting, bullying, stealing, and lots more.
I told my kids that they better not ever be a division of that and the teachers have enough to settlement with. My kids were not going to be burden on the faculty.
I know this will be a shock to alot of you but guess what? He survived the paddle, he didn't hold any bruises, he wasn't scarred for life, he acted better after the spanking.

Yes! I'm from a small town of 200 so we did things the "old way" and honestly it straightened me up as a kid, i turned out great and i want i could thank him for being strong and believing in me, when though i was a brat kid. to desperate he died from cancer. a good strong role model goes along way within a kids life
then again it also depends on the region you live in, you may return with some of those nutjobs that try to tell other people how to be parents.
