My daughter is anxious of everything! What do I do?
My 5 year old daughter is terrified to do anything. I want to put her in shindig class and in swimming lessons, but she cries and says its too upsetting. She gets nervous with purely about anything. She won't even let me take her earrings out that we get pierced in feb because she thinks its going to hurt. She is scared of riding her bike. She is worried of dogs etc. I can't reason with her at all. Its frustrating as heck to hear her cry over things. She's terrifically smart and I would love to widen her horizons even more by doing dance or swimming with her, but everytime i mention anything adjectives hell breaks loose! What do I do??
Ok, something I noticed is that you want her to whip dance classes or swimming lessons. You want to take her earrings out. Riding a bike? Does she similar to to ride bikes?
I think the most prudent decision to take is to sermon calmly with her, ask her "Why are you scared going on for this?" Don't ask her "Why are you scared about everything?" because this will create an image on her nearly she being scared about everything.
When you return with the answer, just listen to her. Don't force her to do anything, just listen. I highly recommend you not to grant her a reply when she responds, just hug her or give her a smile reflecting peace and tranquility. This way she'll have a handle on is not a big deal.
When you find her crying about something, I recommend you to first give her a hug. Not a undergo hug, because this could be telling her that what just happened to her be really scary. Just give her a normal hug.
After she finishes crying, ask her why she get scared about X thing? and repeat what I told you in the past.

When she tells you about all this what do you or say-so ?Do you show her more attention and baby her when she does this?Do you think she is doing this is cause she is getting a criticism out of you knowing she is getting your attention?Ask her what does she like to do and get her in something..She'll grow out of it.Im not proverb your doing this but maybe she's been babied to much...
its a sage she will grow out of it my little sister want though it too
try starting out with maybe swimming beside her do everything with her..put an earring on & take it on & off infront of her. the unbroken dog thing in time as she gets elder that will go away..
Answers: Have you sat down (cuddle with her on the couch and just settle to her) and ask her why riding her bike is scary? Maybe she saw something and she is afraid that will happen to her.
With the amount of things she is afraid of she sounds like she might be overly anxious.perchance she is feeling pressure from you and that is stressing to her?
If I were her mom, I would backbone off from pressuring her to do anything at this moment and start giving her experiences that are happy. Maybe go and see a friend that have a new puppy but keep the puppy behind a total admission money. Tell your daughter that the puppy will bark but it will not hurt her. Once she gets used to seeing him behind the takings, you could let him loose but not near her yet. Let her scrutinize run around, then you pet him. Teach her about dog safety etc. Do alike thing with swimming lessons.communicate about the pool, etc and what she will see, then just move about and watch.
You mentioned that when you mention something 'all hell breaks loose'. Maybe try talking something like it 2 days before...look at pics on the internet, even YouTube has videos that I'm sure would be informative, then prepare her to go watch swimming that agency.
Good luck...I hope things improve. Remember, they feed off our stress level. If you're stressed she will be too.
you need to ask her. "What scares you around swimming?" It may be that she is worried the water may be too deep. So you can reassure her that where she learn she will be able to stand. It may be that she is worried that the teacher may make her do something she is unqualified for. Reassure her again. Take her to the pool and get in with her. Let her see other kids enjoy lessons. Explain that learning to swim is fun and it is something that could save her natural life one day.
Scared to ride a bike...probably the falling off part. Reassure her that most possible she will have some falls and that she will have a helmet to protect her head and you can grasp elbow/knee pads. Explain you will be right there beside her but that yes she will fall soon and it may hurt a little but that it will be okay and she can get up and try again.
Don't lie to her or she will not know how to trust you next time. Talk through what part frightens her and discuss it
Well, she is merely 5 years old. Try t start out with something easy, step by step, features of like: Swimming ( in the shallow end as you would expect ) or maybe even help her ride her bike. But just remember she is solely 5 and is new to a lot of things. Be patient and don't budge to ruff with her.
