well my 5 year old helps me vacuum and he make sure his room is always clean .. he helps out next to that and i always have him help me dust around the house since its undemanding. and on laundry days he helps me take out and fold his own clothes from the dryer. (just his) just to inculcate him responsibility and i don't pay him because i tell him that its because i am teaching him responsibility and if he remembers when he wishes something mommy always gets it for him. and in return adjectives i ask for is just a bit of help around the house. =)
Setting and helping to clear table.
Vacuuming and dusting living room.

When I be 10, I washed dishes, raked leaves, emptied refuse, vacuumed, cleaned room, did laundry (Including folding clothes.)
I would have them do anything except chores that require harsh chemicals. So vaccuming. Sweeping. Dishes. Windows. Folding clothes and putting them away. Organizing the garage.
