What can I do when babysitting a 5 year prehistoric girl and 8 year older boy?
It is at my house, and none of their friends live in my town (they live in a different town than me). I am thirteen and I can't drive anywhere. There are some places in town that we can stroll to though. Below is a list of places in town that we can walk to, and what fragment of town they are on and approximately how far they are from my house. I live on the West-Northwest part of town.
Pool---East. It is really fun it has some kiddie slides and family slides and a big slide and two diving boards, a whorl pool, sprinklers, nouns pool, basketball goal, and kiddie pool. Approximately 1 mile.
Park---North. One is about 1.5 miles and it is bigger and has basketball, volleyball, baseball, tennis and soccer field, a big picnic area, an open field, and three playgrounds. Another one is really hot but it doesn't have a playground or any sports fields yet, so far it merely has a big open area, walking catwalk along the river, and a picnic area. This one is about a half mile and on the west side of town.
Community Center---Currently the with the sole purpose place we can go into is the gym because the rest in going through renovations. It is right next to the pool.
Dollar General---West-Northwest. About 1 mile.
Library---Right across the street from the Dollar General.
Bleu Tomato (resturant)---Right subsequent to Dollar General.
Nature Park---South. about 4 miles. Has a pond, long walking trail, and there are a lot of manic animals living there so we might be able to see some animals but we might not, and there are some baseball field next to it. It is a little to far to walk, and we would own to go across a bunch of major roads (that don't have sidewalks) and a highway. I am disallowed to walk there with the kids because of the roads.
Sonic, McDonalds, KFC, Taco Bell, Mr. Goodcents, Subway and Pizza Hut are adjectives right next to each other and on the West-southwest part of town. About 2 miles.
Kylie is really girly and like do makeovers, paint nails, do hair etc, color in coloring books, keep under surveillance girly tv shows and movies.
Taylor loves to play around outside.
I have been to the pool and park with them lots of times. I enjoy been to all these places at least once next to them except the Bleu Tomato (it is an expensive resturant). I have also made some sugar cookie dough and let them cut out their own cookies and decorate their own (they both have a lot of fun with this). I try to do some stuff with Kylie that she like but then Taylor gets bored and complains, and I try to do some stuff with Taylor that he like but then Kylie gets bored and complains. I have a slip and slide so I enjoy thought about letting them do that. I don't have a really big backyard though. And I don't really want to let them outside by themselves, because we live on a largest road, and there is a really bad neighborhood right across the street, and 2 couple kids were kidnap earlier this summer while playing outside by themselves. I am babysitting all summer so need lots of philosophy!!
Thanks!
Answers: Hi!
You are very lucky, I am 15, And babysit, and people think IM too immature!
Anyhow, No one ever said you even had to leave to have a great time! I know that alot of parents will allow a day after day allowance for activities. Instead of taking them out, maybe for a day, stay contained by. Purchase at some point before the job some makings, and do some crafts! Also, I dont know if there are any theatres in the vicinity you, but they probably would love a good kids movie(Up maybe?).
You usually(if it is a M-F job), want to try to get them out at most minuscule 3 days of the week or so(aside from crafts and other fun things at the home).
Ask them, out of the things you have done with them so far, what they have enjoy the best, what would they want to do again? Do they maybe know of something fun, close by, that you dont? It never hurts to ask! Does the McDonalds have a playplace? Take them there! Little ones cant obtain enough of that! And you live in a dangerous nouns? Ooooowwwww..thats not good.
Your the babysitter, dont let them out alone to begin near, supervise!!
You can have alot of fun, even in a small yard. Play sticky label with them, hide and seek, any other games! Also, Try to find room for the slip N slide, theyd love it!
Boys and girls regularly will not agree in the activity. You need to find things that are not masculinity related, like the park, pool, etc. In school, they go to like peas in a pod classes, reccurring places are not a negative. Plan your week. Monday-the pool Tuesday-The park Wed-The library Thursday-McDonalds and outdoor activity at home Friday- Crafts, Outdoor activities, etc. You've in recent times gotta think!
Good Luck!
Kris
You can never get enough of the park and the library.
I would stick to nonspecific stuff to play. I have an 8 year old girl and 5 year old boy and they enjoy to stick to gender neutral stuff, like playing games, swimming, bike riding, tv, movies, video games, art projects,e tc.
