My seven year feeble daughter is extraordinarily clingy beside her cousin and it annoys me.?
My daughter has always liked to spend time beside her second cousin. Her cousin is a little manipulating and my daughter is a little romantic they have two years of age difference. It concerns me because every weekend my daughter pleads her and her parents for her to come stay with us. My daughter does have other friends and cousins and have a social life but I don't get what it is with her and the clinging enjoy tried to talk to her but she just says she like to play with her. I don't know how to explain to her cousin can't come over every weekend especially without asking me first before inviting her. I don't know what to do? By the style I also have a three year old so it is not like she is alone.
She probably looks up to her. There's nothing wrong with it.
Your daughter probably looks up to her cousin and thinks she is really cool. the older cousin probably see that and uses it to her advantage. your daughter will grow out of her clingyness. in the mean time plan actions with friends her own age
Answers: Don't verbs about it. When I was younger (ten and below), I followed my older sister resembling a loyal puppy. Ate whatever she did, watched the same shows, wore similar clothing... girls your daughter's age other have a role model, someone a couple years older than them that are fun and cool. Sometimes it's her best friend's older sister, their own elder sister, anyone related, basically. And maybe a bit manipulative, especially if the cousin doesn't have an younger sister to boss around. It's a phase that will ending.
She'll understand that they won't be able to hang out every weekend, newly tell her what you said in your explanation ("her cousin can't come over every weekend especially without asking me first until that time inviting her."). It's just right.
they probally want to blast each other up
