About how much time (i.e., daily) should a 10 year out-of-date child spend reading?
Whenever her bedtime is put her to bed a half and hour earlier, then she can read for 30 minutes
Everyone is different.I'm 11 and at school we read almost 25 minutes.It depends at home.For me,if I really like a book I'll read for hours.
BUT you shouldn't force them to read for a certain amount (at home,anways).Let them read for as long as they want.

My daughter ready contunually from an hour to two hours, and she just gets cleverer. Let your child read for as long as he/she wishes to read. You should never push your child to read too much.
If I let her, my 11 year hoary would read all day. But her teacher recommend 30 minutes a day.
My daughter's coach recommends 25 minutes a day at home during the week.
15 to 20 minutes is recommended by son's school teacher this last year and he just completed 5th grade & will turn 11 contained by July.

Well, I worked in an elementary school this year and part of the homework requirement for fourth graders be twenty minutes of reading (fifth grade was thirty minutes)- that's the minimum for credit. There are a lot of kids who voluntarily read much more than that, resembling when I was that age I would read several hours a day.
