Are cell phones for kids a pious view?
I'm thinking of getting my 10 year old a cellphone, so that when he goes out to play, I can call him to remind him it's time to come home, and at lowest possible I know where he's at. This is especially usefull in our neighborhood, where he sometimes loses track of time when he's playing near friends. What about those outdoor walkie talkies that people use for camping? which is better?
I got a cell at 15 but months later my mom get my brother one as well and he was 10 at the time.
He is 14 nearly 15 now.
He have never gone over minutes or text. He has never lost it. He has be very responsible with it.
This cell has come surrounded by handy numerous times. If he needed to call home while at a sleep over, my mom didn't have to worry just about if he would be able to or not.
When he and his friends would play around the neighborhood she was able to ring up him and find him immediately if needed.
I would say get him one.
It have made my life so easy.
I remember a few times when I needed a cell phone and didn't have one...and couldn't obtain to a phone.
Its scary and its a feeling I never want to have again.
I am other going to have a cell phone...till the day I die.
A lot of parents get there kids cell phones, but you have to look at the responsibility of your extraordinary child. If he isn't careful at this point about losing track of time, he's probably not going to be careful roughly speaking keeping track of his cell phone.
You also have to be careful because when kids get things similar to cell phones other kids will want to use it too. Which in the long hall could cause you more grief than you want.
I would lately make sure you have the number(s) of the parents of the children he is playing with that daylight, if you need to get a hold of him, than call them. It will lend a hand you keep track of your child so you know where he is. If you call a parent and they voice I haven't seen him all day than you know something is up. Having a cell phone is a big responsibility that closely of kids really want, but they aren't ready for.
i think the earliest you should buy one for them is like sixth grade or whenever they capture in middle school, definitely not contained by elementary school.
think of it this way: adjectives the adults in the world lived without a cell phone and they were fine!
i believe about age 12 is right for their first phone.
If communication's an issue, then run ahead and get him a cell phone. I always used to lose track of time when I was little, and I be a worry-wart about checking in. It might be hard for him to dangle on to it though. I lost stuff left and right when I was little, especially since little kid clothes didn't really have seriously of pockets. Maybe you could just give him a digital watch and drill him how to set the alarms.
Answers: I would not find him a cell phone unless he shows responsibility to have one and you can trust him. Get him a digital watch and make sure he is wearing it when he comes home. Make sure he is listen when you tell him what time to be home. He can just look at the watch and know when to be home. :)
If you considered necessary a type of communication. Get walkie talkies for now because, he is only 10 I don't think he really NEEDS a cell phone. Maybe permit him use yours when he goes outside to play and than you can call him.
Get the childrens parents phone numbers so you can call them when it is time for your son to come home or when he is unsettled. Make sure they know who you are and you know who they are. I think most parents do this.
Also know where he is going to be. Maybe you can go in that and pick him up if he is late...I think cell phones are for kids who go places alone and might want to call you at a certain time. Right now you should know where on earth he is and he should have a digital watch to look off of. :) honourable luck
Are you kid me. I didn't get my first cell phone until I was out of high college. Yes I am 30 and when I was 14 that was 16 years ago and cell phones were not even as close to person as common as they are now.
A lot of us high institution kids just had pagers, (I got mine midway through my freshman year,) and some have neither a cell phone or a pager. Kids younger than that definitely had neither. I regard 10 years old is far too young. Outdoor walkie talkies? lol Comon lady. How roughly just trusting your child. Im sure you trust him don't you. Give him a certain time to come home and Im sure he will come home at the time you give him. Leave it at that. No cell phones for 10 year olds. Beginning of high-ranking school is when kids should be getting cell phones and not before then.

Nahhh. They have those phones for kids that only hold three buttons, one for mom, one for dad, and one to hang up. It would be easier if something where to happen he would be capable of call you quickly rather than trying to find your number.
I am not going to, I personally just create sure to know where my kid is and my kid cant go running off in need giving me her next location and phone numbers of their parents.
I just dont think kids that babyish need cell phones but lots of parents do it.
no! no! no! no! and no! get him a monitor!
Neither. Get one for use within HS. That at the earliest. Parents gave me one at 12. I'm 14 and barely use it.
