Low Hemoglobin contained by 12 year outdated?
When taking my 12 year old to the doctor for a fever which she said was viral I mentioned that he looked washed-out to me. She ran a hemoglobin test and said he was for a while low at 10.9. And that he should be at 11.8, my questions are this I cant find any definitive answer as to what a 12 year old boys count should be (they all differ) Is this incredibly low? Should I be concerned? She said to get him a multivitamin that contains iron, which I did, (Flinstones with Iron) I also bought some ensure which I am also giving him, is this overkill? Help

My iron level were low too at that age and for a long time. I take the flinstone iron vitamins and I do fine. keep him on the vitamins and try and endow with him more food with iron and protein in it. my doctor told me that my iron level should enjoy been 12, though it might be different for boys.
