Fun and creative ways to announce the arrival of babe!!?
This year for our beautiful baby on the way, we would love to do something fun for the announcement of the birth. I know in attendance are blue and pink cigars and announcement cards, but I was just wondering if anyone had any other suggestions for announcements, especially for the folks eagerly awaiting outside the hospital room.
I read a story of a lady who asked the midwives and doctors to keep the babies sexual category a secret and so after all the measuring and weigh was done, bub was brought over to her wrapped in blankets and when the DH, brother and sisters and grandparents be there, they all saw the gender together. Thought that be a gorgeous story.
Another one I have just recently hear was they ask their older child/ren to walk outside near a banner or piece of paper stating "I/We have a babe-in-arms sis/brother", thought that was cute too.
Any suggestions ladies or gents, your input is greatly appreciated.
Answers: This is kind of hard because it's not after the ultrasound so there's not much time to prepare. Not in recent times that, but you would have to buy both boy and girl items to make sure you have the right femininity. So some ideas might be a little costly, unlike the banner hypothesis (which I think is a great one by the way).
So here are a couple that wouldn't be too expensive to try.
You can make cupcakes and put pink or blue decorations on them. The decorations you can put last minute and own them sent out to the waiting room. So that may work.
You could also wait until the grandparents and whoever else is in the room, then unwrap your babe either wearing a cute outfit, or you can simply have him/her just contained by a diaper and then remove the diaper to show the gender.
I'm going to think of some more planning...but this is all I have for now. I will email you beside any that I think of if you resolve this question by then. Good luck.
