Baby Shower Etiquette?
I am newly pregnant... I am due in Feb... I was trying to integer out when to have a shower?
I dont want one before half road (which is Oct).. So I was thinking Nov-Jan
I have a B-day and Christmas in Dec, so figure that would be out..
So I am like Early to Mid Nov (dont want to get to close to Thanksgiving)... Or do we go surrounded by Jan...
I know everyone is broke around the Holidays.. and I was trying to make this convenient for others as well... I dont want someone to have an idea that they have to spend a certain amount or anything when they dont have it...
I will probably shutting down up with 2 (maybe 3) showers to accommodate everyone (family one, friends one)
I do not want it after the baby or close to my due date as I will NEED things I will be getting :)
I am 25 with a apt job and will be leaving with the boyfriend (dad to be)... but currency is strap and a good shower will be key to the first few months of survival... he just graduate college PhD...
Oh the decisions!
Also do I ask someone to host one for me? What is the proper thing there?
I always assumed that if someone required to have a baby shower for me they would. If you feel comfortable asking someone to support you with your shower then go for it. Most of the time ethnic group are always willing to pitch-in when it comes to a baby! Your timing is a tough one, not purely the Holidays but depending on where you live the weather could get nasty as okay if you wait too long. I would not hesitate to have a shower after Thanksgiving but earlier Christmas. There is never not a good time to celebrate a baby's arrival! Source(s): My Mom had my toddler shower for me when I was 23 weeks, and I delivered my triplet daughters at 23 weeks 6 days gestation. We planned well, but they other say to have it early surrounded by pregnancy when it comes to multiples.
Trust me I'm betting there is a womanly friend or relative chomping at the bit to throw the shower for you. Both my showers were about a month before the due date, which be great because we could pick up the items we did not get. Be careful with the multiple showers, not aphorism you are but some may view it as "greedy" when I know that's not why you are doing it.
Answers: Heres how mines going...
I'm due the greatly end of August, and my baby shower is the middle of July...
I didn't ask anyone to host it for me, my mom and my Beaus mom are doing it for me, they just kinda told me and started planning it...
Mostly my Moms the host though...
I'm have 2 also, only because my step mom wants to have her own. But bar that you don't need two, you dont need to accommodate everyone, if they cant come they cant come...
Anyways it depends when in Feb. you're due... if it's the stop I'd say have the shower mid. Jan. But if it's early Feb, jump for November... You're right to avoid December.
January would probably be more ideal for people though...
Congrats to you!! Source(s): 9 weeks til Baby
3 weeks til shower
I had mine a few months before my due date which worked out nice because it give us time to get the stuff that we needed but didn't get at the shower. I'd say hasty to mid November would be best.
Generally, showers are held about a month before your due date. And you should never ask someone to host a shower for you. That's merely tacky, lol.
I would do it about a month from your due date but not to close because the baby can always come precipitate. I would say do it mid Jan.
If you have a few close friend you could ask them to be your hostess for the party because you don't want to be have to run around making sure everything is going right. You need someone to do that for you so you can relax and enjoy your shower. You never know they might just give an account you to sit back and they will plan the thing for you :) Good luck
Mine were like 4 weeks before EDD. But my son come 4 days after his shower
