BABY SHOWER- (?) Whats is a biddable cut off- of not inviting people-?
I would invite everyone including distant cousins etc. The more people that come, the more gifts you carry. And the food is just hordourves anyway so it's not like your spending a fortune on feeding a big bunch. Invite them, and within the invitation tell everyone where your registered.
OK, I know I will get thumbs down for this but here it go:
First of all - NOBODY goes to a shower for the food. No good food is ever served, cold sandwich, cake, etc... its not like you are going to have steak and champagne.
Second of all - It sounds to me similar to YOU are the one being selfish. Not wanting to invite people because they 'won't bring a payment anyway'.
I don't know about anyone else, but I could care less if everyone brought a offering. To me, it is a celebration of my child and the start of his life, not about presents.
I have never hear of someone coming to a shower without a gift. I'd invite them and they won't come if they don't want to buy a gift :)
i think this is a frozen topic and i have been struggling with it. i am inviting kith and kin b/c they are family...so even if we dont talk a lot they are clan. friends i am basically doing the 6 month rule...have we talked contained by the past 6 months or so? then there are some race i dont want to offend by not inviting so i feel like it is better to invite than hurt someones emotional state. if they dont want to come... the wont.

so answer me this, do you invite your spouses best friends spouses even if you dont really talk to them?
If I were you I would invite everyone I know, lol. The more people, the more gifts! That's what the party is for isn't it? The smaller quantity people, the less gifts. Plus you could be the bigger cousin and invite them; maybe they quality like you haven't an interest in their lives so this could be the ice breaker. After adjectives...you only have to see them a few hours at the shower anyway right? I always invite closely of people to my showers so I can get the maximum amount of gifts for support.
