How much should I charge for babysitting?
I am a stay-at-home mother of two boys ages 5 and 2, in Maryland. I am looking to babysit in my home to make some extra money.
I wasn't sure how much to charge. I have a couple people interested, but I said I was charging $8/hr. per child and $10/hr. for two children and I think that be too much for them.
I have someone else interested who has two kids ages 5 and 8 who will need after university care. This would work great because they could take the bus to my house with my son or I could pick adjectives three of them up at the elementary school.
What is a good rate to charge? I would be giving them both an afternoon snack and drink and probably keep them until 5:30 or 6 p.m. -- whenever parents receive out of work.
Thanks for any advise!
Erin
not much its only 30mis what can start i baby sat with 2 kids 2 and every article went great
I would charge by the week. We pay 120 a week with our day consideration and that is really cheap for our area .. Texas .. but some pay similar to 200-250 a week here. I would say at 5 and 8 for both kid 200-250 would be good.
I would always charge by the week if you preserve them 5 days a week from 8-5. But if it's just a few hours hear and there through out the week then step by the hour. But that is just me.
Answers: I used to nanny, but now I work at an office surrounded by the city. When I nannied, my rate was $13/hr for one child, and $15/hr for two or three children.
If I ever went back to nannying and could bring my kid near me, I would charge between $10-$12 per hour, I think that's fair. You need to formulate a living too. :)
ask your clients what they would like to pay. probability are, they will offer more than you expected.
