At what age can a child justifiably exit home and live on their own?

18 unless they are emancipated.
In Texas the age you are able to leave home is 17 because they can no longer put you within Juvenal hall once you turn 17 and can not put you in adult secure unit for running away. Source(s): Im a paralegal in Texas

I believe that it is 18 in most US States, although a minor can petition the court for emancipation at a younger age surrounded by some circumstances.
18
I think the legal age is 17.
In my state, 17 if graduated from high university, 18 if not. A lot of these laws have changed contained by recent years, so you have to check for your state specifically.
